alright, so i've been looking around at .net and i been wanting to join for a while. so i finally do but it says that the board administrator has switched off Registrations. so... can i not join or something?

yeah i think that new people cannot join because of all the spamming...

It's not snobbery at all. The reason it was closed to new members wasn't because of spamming but because certain people create accounts so they can screw with the site - hacking and whatnot. You can go in there as a guest and download anything that's posted though, you just can't post.
