i absolutely love the more lo fi production value that gimme love has, my main complaint about melodia was that the sort of overproduced sheen took some of the wind out of the songs, particularly braindead.

lo fi? I don't mean to be mean but i think it's actually more produced then Melodia.

It's better recorded and sounds fuller. Melodia sounded a bit cheap - like their budget was slashed drastically. I think Melodia was full of effects (chorus, EQ) trying to improve the sound that wasn't recorded so high budget as previous releases.

Look, as I said, I'm happy to be proved wrong. The song sounds great - it's got a real retro sound with a modern twist. Classic vines with something new thrown in. I need a few hours to obsess over it now. I just hope - especially given that Craig acknowledges the importance of album sales in the music business - that band's publicists do the album justice so that the word can spread as it should.

Can't wait til Feb 7th.

And they are releasing Future Primitive through SONY. Amazing!
