It depends. I saw the performance where Craig like, smacked himself in the face with the mic and started bleeding and he just couldn't continue singing(well, he tried!) and just totally ruined the song.

But, I wouldn't mind, no. I'd still like them. But if ALL their songs where like the one I mentioned, probably not. I actually like some of their performances better than the song on the albums, sooo. It depends.

Umm. I'll have to find it. I read the article about it too. At first, when I saw the video it didn't look like he was bleeding, but then I read the article about it and it said he was. But pfft. Sometimes reporters are wrongwrongwrong.
But i think he really did hit himself in the face with the mic because it sounded like it hurt really, really bad...

what?

i think a really good band should be even better live than on cd. i have never been to a concert, so i can't say if i like them live or not. but i think it really really matters. otherwise it's just another fuckin band whose members don't have to be able to sing but be goodlooking. like in a real band the members have to write their songs by themselves or should be able to play an instrument. well, at least that's my way of interpreting the word "band".

I don't know.
From what I've seen of them, most of the live performances aren't too good. Craig totally destroys the songs most of the time.

I think that the words they sing and how they make you feel and how they make you think are allot more important then the voice, so definitly

a "singer" should be able to "sing", right? if you listen to songs of britney spears or whoever then you recognize that some of the lyrics aren't too bad. but that's not what makes you finally listen to her, is it?

ok, i not saying that i like the vines just because they're goodlooking. what i was saying that it doesn't matter because i think that it doesn't matter for how they chose to sing their songs.

of course not. craig sounds like a dying seagull and their performances are very half-assed. it's no surprise when the lead singer has tryed to get out of playing live and has expressed his hatred for it on fans and a photographer.

HAHA. Wow. That made me laugh. I'm always surprised when he expresses his hatred for anything...
Also, I have to agree to the person who said that their live perfomances make them laugh. I can't help but laugh. I wonder if he purposely does what he does. He seems like a person who doesn't take life seriously because it wouldn't be fun for him, so why take music seriously as well? It's fun. They're fun. Even when he gets mad....

I have not seen that many shows from The Vines, but what I have seen and heard, Craig scream alot, in a whole different way that he does on the studio recordings..
I think it's quite cool, but I don't really understand why? He has a very good voice, which he can use, instead of screaming like a girl all the time..
I still think that The Vines are entertaining, but they could be much better live..

Although I have never seen/been to a life performance, i too have downloaded some of the audio from live performances, and in some of them craig sounds pretty good, but in others, such as the XFM F.T.W. performance
(probably more but thats all I can think of at the moment) when he yells words out or screams, he sounds quite comical, for some reason, like a chicken is what comes to mind (maybe i'm just strange).
Well moving on.. I like there being a difference between the live and studio, and I don't expect live vocals to be the same as in the studio album. And there is a difference with seeing a band 'perform' live, because with live you also get the visuals of the band actually doinf their stuff (hopefully i will see them live sometime then i can make a better judgment...2006?? *hopes*)
And I would like the albums if they sounded like they sounded live on their good days, however

Raw within reason is good, just as long as he shows that he has at least some good vocal skills. (don't scream like a chicken)
