But HE didn't even make it the Top 100 albums of the decade . After all the hype and slagging they went through by those scumbag journalists treating music as fashion by the media.

Oh it's just that NME are scumbags were a bit biased. Alot of people weren't happy with the list as there wasn't any Franz Ferdinand or Highly Evolved on there.

Huh? That was only added to the NME website two days ago, so I don't get the whole "that was 7 years ago. captain obvious" thing... Unless I'm missing something?
Yeah Highly Evolved has been around for a long time, but I still think it's cool they were mentioned as the 2nd best album of 2002 .

The list went online yesterday, champ. It's not old news. Call me Captain Obvious again and I'll tear you a new one.

As for the albums of the decade, I agree: it is odd that an album that was no. 2 in 2002 according to the mag doesn't appear in the top 100. I think you'll find that a fair few of the top 100 of the 'decade' have actually only been released in the past 3 years or so.

I blame franz fedinand almost entirely for the campness that has pervaded music over the past 5 years, the death of rock and the 80's making a shameful comeback. I saw it coming when Take Me Out came out in 2004, and I've been living the nightmare ever since then.

As much as I love The Vines, I think that #1 spot went to The Strokes for album of the decade. Cool that The Vines still made it on one of the lists, though.

And the Top 100 was composed of votes by people in the music industry. Yet alot of people are complaining that NME are ignoring musicians that they use to praise.

- Black Rebel
- THE DATSUNS!!!
- Interpol
- The libertines

and ofcourse......THE VINES! we need another garage-rock revival.

I was surprised that NME didnt include Highly Evolved in their 100 albums of the decade, considering how much they used to champion the band in the early days.
It was good to see Highly Evolved (single) in the top 100 singles. but 'coulda-beens' is completely to worng tag to give them. cover-stars, over a million records sold, about to record their fifth album....i'm pretty sure they achieved all they wanted to.
