Full Version: Reminiscing about the Capital Records Vines board
The Vines Message Board > Off Topic > Completely Off Topic
She
This message board is an incredible accomplishment and I give thanks and praises to those who put their time and talents, sweat and tears into keeping it maintained and operational. But for those of you who remember the old board doesn't just thinking about some of the topics and goings ons and fights that went on kind of make you laugh?

I made a few friends from those times and probably more enemies than i'm aware of, and because of that I dont usally post here but I do come around to catch up on news of The Vines. Besides thats what it's all about anyways. To the old board and it's posters never forget this;

I can see the leaves of golden glisten in the sun
Making time for everyone is what I should have done.
Blue and green with eyes between are acting all the same
You and me are never free until we're cast away .....,.

what are some of your memories of the old Vines board? Care to share?

I arrived here in 2005, so I don't remember those times, but surely it was the best times. Now is better in some ways, and worse in others.

The board was way more active back then, but it was just one page - no sections - so it was harder to find the topics you were after... well a few extra button clicks tongue.gif . I guess the only thing I miss about the old one is the activity on the boards. Hmmm... I always loved those threads where different people would add to a story. I never posted in them (don't have much of a creative writing ability wink.gif ) but I always loved reading them.

The days of activity are fun, full of stories, which sometimes are part of the "soul" of the forum.

i miss the bitch fights. laugh.gif

i didnt post much at all because i didnt want to get attacked. but i loved lurking and reading some poor ol chap get ripped apart for saying anything about craigs good looks.

and yes talk about active- shit was going down every which way.
i used to visit a lot more and it was really informative of new music which i really miss. i feel sort of out of the loop now, there were so many people here on top of artists that i would never have known otherwise.

I was only a lil tyke when I was a member of that board, so I assume some of the things I said were pretty idiotic tongue.gif It would be pretty hilarious if it could somehow be dug up from the internet graveyard and we could all read it.

I liked posting in a thread called 'The Random Thread'....mellow.gif

Was it here or there when we had an evil schism where some of the members went and made their own board to pay out the normal board???

I remember posting there, but I don't remember what tongue.gif

At the time, I had a thing going on with a member called art chick. She was cool smile.gif

I remember the beginnings here, where I inadvertently became the resident relationship expert/guru laugh.gif

I also remember having a bit of a tiff with a small group of members, some of whom might still be around (are they?).

I haven't been on the old forum for that long. Half a year maybe. laugh.gif

I think most members are just gone, aren't they? Things are different now.
