“A Night with the Phantom” will be showcasing one of the best and freshest Indie cross over lineups to hit Wollongong in years.

Ratatat: A two piece outfit hailing from New York have toured with the likes of Daft Punk & Bjork and have wowed audiences all over the world. This Headline visit to Wollongong will be a special one. You have been warned.

Young & Restless: This Melbourne four piece were the original winners of the 2007 Triple J Homebake Unearthed Competition & recipients of the first Triple J Unearthed Award. They are currently working on the follow up to their blazing self titled debut, but will be hitting Wollongong for this one off show. The energy of their live shows is second to none.

The Vines DJ’s: One of Australia’s most renown rock n roll bands will be hanging up their guitars and drums for one night and jumping on the decks to play some of their favourite jams throughout the night.

Tame Impala: The Newest edition to the Modular Records stable have hit the ground running and have been all over the Australian Festival circuit playing Groovin the Moo, V Festival and Laneway. They will just be returning home from their first U.K Tour.

Fait Accompli: This Sydney three piece have been turning heads, receiving rave reviews for their blazing live shows. They will be opening the evening with their own genre of Soul Punk goodness, so come early.

Tom ‘E’ Kaos: Local boy and resident Club 77 DJ will be warming up the crowd in between sets with a variety of his favourite indie anthems.

To accompany the live music will be an array of visual art on display, collectively transforming the waves nightclub as we know into something entirely different and spectacular. Along with the masquerade ball theme (yes a mask is a must), it is sure to be an event that surely stands out in anyone’s mind.

Apparently, by car it takes 5 or so hours to get to Sydney from where I live, and then there's a whole lot of other obstacles stopping me, aside from the age limit... psch. Why bore you.

I just read in my local newspaper that the Vines DJs are coming to Newcastle at the Cambridge Hotel tomorrow night

but it's probably over 18 and I have schoolwork to do

sometimes I wish I was already 18, finished school, at uni and going gigs all the time

Lol. I'm at uni full time and I can not afford to be going to gigs all the time.

Eh, I'm not a fan of the Cambridge, especially on Friday nights. Is it just the cover charge? I might be able to convince someone to come with me if it's only $10 or something.

That's cheaper than the last time I was there. I think it was $15 or something and there was only a little local band playing.

DJs are mostly composed of one or two people that desperately need monies

Its actually in the Wollongong-ish area, so even further from sydney...apparently the place its at is really shit.... and I dont have anyone to go with!

in these economic times, some of the bandmates have second jobs

I didn't really think it was worth going to...I was outside with a friend and I said 'oh I want to go back in to see the vines djs' and he said '...that was just what we were watching'

I didn't even notice! It was just crap music being played in between actual bands playing

maybe after Triple J invaded Gippsland with the One Night Stand
