By chance I just switched on the TV and heard "Braindead" playing as someone danced on So You Think You Can Dance? [Australian version] and was quite proud It faded as the show went to a break and left me thinking. No one would've noticed the song unless they were a fan, so this could've potentially happened a lot of times before; a Vines song gone unnoticed and unstated because it was in a smaller role.

I know that sites like Wikipedia and IMDB list what movies/ TV shows music has been featured in, but have you come across anything smaller which had a Vines song in it, if only for a few seconds? (If that makes sense)

It can be anything, TV shows, ads, radio-ads, etc etc. =] I'm just curious of how far the Vines' music can travel in the media x D

when I was watching the end of Home & Away with that "Next time on H&A" bit I heard an instrumental version of 'Hey' being played over it...

Also I heard songs from Melodia on H&A quite a bit

i've once heard Get Free and Ride in an Indonesian music tv programme. I was screaming when i realized it. I said 'Whoaa! Finally! One tv remember them!!'. It was about 3 months ago..

yeah I'm a Home and Away chic because I live on the coast and my mum is a fan of it...she even tried to finished watching an episode of it before she gave birth to me

The only song I remember on tv was ride which was played for some car add... I think ford.

i know ride was on nissan commercials in the US. i think that was back in 2006.

Mtv and Vh1 are always playing ride, outtathaway, and get free on their like countdown shows and best week ever and fabulous life, that sorta stuff. they also play a lotta supergrass and the dandy warhols so i think they might have a deal with capitol or something.

That's funny, kinda like my mum, she watched Home & Away while pregnant with my older sister and so my older sister who is obsessed with the show always jokes about how shes been watching it since before she was born x D

I live on the coast too, but hate the beach, ahah, and I just don't like the show, dunno why.

yeah... you know how commercials will make like a version of their own and either slow it down or speed it up???? well i remeber back in 2006 they where playing their own version of fuk yeah on a Febreze Air Refreshener commercial. me and my friend wher like wtf? cus it like was fast and hard then it slowed down then fast and hard again so it was exactly the same. and the ride nissan commercial was played in November of 2007. i remeber clearly when it was for some reason...

I know the guy who makes a lot of those car commercials

but I don't really discuss my favorite bands with him... I think we have some similar tastes

there was one with a Jet tune as well...

Ride used to play on Nascar commercials a lot in 07.

Also I heard Outtathatway once on an episode of Cash Cab, a gameshow on Channel V

I don't like it when people alter songs for TV/film etc. >_< It's fine if it's a cover, the song by another band/artist, because they have to add their own feel to it, but just editting a song for the means of a TV show or whatever else annoys me.

I heard 'Outtathaway' on Bruce Almighty (film), and 'Get Free' on Agent Cody Banks (I or II).
