craigssunchild
I think all of these bands have changed their songs to pop rock, i was just wondering who other people thought had changed the most! biggrin.gif

I think Silverchair take the cake though......
little_washu712
silverchair takes it thier old stuff is much harder than the new stuff
velvet touch
its okay man... we all make bummer threads at one point or another.
kaleidoscope_eyes
silverchair for sure.

but red hot chili peppers too. they used to be more funky and cool and now they're just so soft-rock..blah..i like their older stuff better.
rejected_rocker
hummm............... huh.gif
king koopa

Dalai Lama
Green day changed for the better
The Big M

Thomhatesmusic
incubus... they changed the way that i could start liking em
elfinator
freaking incubus. whenever i hear 'warning' i want to fucking cry. fungus was so gooooood!

life just isnt fair.

people need to stop buying big ass pools and then making shit to pay for it.

Dalai Lama

Dark_Requiem
Greenday changed for the worst. Red Hot Chili Peppers were harder and funkier but I still like them. Incubus i'm not familiar with, nor Silverchair but i'm surprised they've gotten softer because they were e15 when they came out...

Elvis Costello wen't from New Wave to Jazz, I think that's an even bigger step.
Clara
i said red hot chilli peppers. i still like them, but their music is kind of pop now
Vee-Vee
I love so much Red Hot Chili Peppers! smile.gif
Yah, maybe they´ve changed a little bit but I think the band has changed the most is Green Day, in my opinion they´re growing so commercial... They´re not the same as in Dookie.
Clara
green day are selling themselfs right now. i dont know why. they have enough fans, they dont have to that
comradestripe
How are they doing that?
Tinkerbell
Greenday aren't selling out. They're not kids anymore and the music has grown to reflect that.
Clara
i dont know, they are everywhere on tv. at least in germany

i like green day, but they dont really need the whole attention of the media.

I doubt they have much to do with how often they're on TV. They just made a record, they're touring, getting video play...would you have them hide out in the basement and refuse to be seen instead?
White_Kids_Love_Hip-Hop
y, yes i would then greenday can be mine ALL MINE!!!
Clara
they can do whatever they want to. i'm not gonna throw away my green day albums, just because i think they're pop and not punk rock anymore.

i was just saying my oppinion, just like you said yours to me
Clara
this above is for tinkerbell

Hey thanx!! happy.gif
Yah, actually RHCP did change... but I love their music so much! smile.gif
comradestripe
I don't know any 'old' RHCP, but I really dislike the new stuff. I really do.

Just because Green Day are on TV, it doesn't mean they've 'sold out'. They don't seem to have to me. There doesn't seem to be much point in not going on TV just so that you don't get many fans to me. Further, I really don't think you can say that a band who've just created a 'rock opera' rallying against the government and the Iraq war can hardly be said to be 'sell-outs'.
Maxwell Demon
green day havn't sold out
they've just been around a while, and kept a pretty large international fan base the entire time, and have gotten to, I guess, a higher status
they're just getting alot of attention now because they've stuck it out for 10+ years, without REALLY much of a change. I mean I think alot of their new stuff sounds like their old stuff...just a bit more mature

I dunno, I think they're just becoming modern legends and such and getting all the publicity that comes with it
marilyn_monroe
Oh definatley Silverchair. I love all their stuff, it just is very very different. Oh well as long as it's still good stuff tongue.gif
devonevoabevon
i say rhcp

velvet touch
no doubt's not even up there. i would say them.
Clara
maybe you're right about green day. that they are now getting credit for their whole work the past 10 years. i just thought they were comercial, because 5 years ago, they werent that often on tv , but still famous

rhcp changed alot. they kind of changed after every album. at first (before under the bridge) they were funky. those songs are so funny, i love to dance when i hear them

DEFINITELY! Rock Steady was a PILE OF SHIT compared to earlier stuff.
Come As You Are
This was pretty hard but I went with Green Day. I loved Dookie, but their new stuff just doesn't compare.
-talknerdytome-
I voted green day, not that there is a problem with that, id say they've gotten better, but the song boulevard of broken dreams got really played out, i loved it untill i heard it every 15 minutes on Much Music
June
How about all of those are bullshit choices?

My first thought was Neil Young.
craig_is_crazy..so_am_i
i liked green day, back in the day

but they seem to have succumbed to this "emo" craze

grrrrrr

Loaded Mind
I think Silverchair have changed the most. Their first album was total Nirvana style, and by their last album they were much more mellow and poppy. I like their newer stuff better.
Mo_Papparani
The mambers of green day are just getting older......they're growing up....

Oh, and you forgot Sugar Ray, they changed a LOT.....they used to rock, but they went soft....like the pansies they are....
garbage
*wonders why he/she didnt put the Cure in the list*
garbage
and it, of course, must be Green Day. Oh, where's another Good Riddance?
marilyn_monroe
I'm totally suprised Green Day is in the lead, they changed but not as much as silverchair blink.gif
Dark_Requiem
Yeah Silverchair made a drastic change to like orchestra rock.
garbage
cos they started their band when they were too young?
