have you ever read a NME review for something and then think "so......does the reviewer like the song or not?"

It's the way in which they describe the songs that used to annoy and amuse me.

"The Quims sound like the sound of New Order being bumfucked with a spiky metal dildo by the Yeah Yeah Yeah's Karen O".

It's really absurd. How can you deduce what sort of a song that is? (well other than? Bernard Sumner screaming "OOOOH FUCKS SAKE!!"

I no longer read NME articles. See, I'll read one, right? Then pass the incorrect information NME has supplied me with on to a better-informed friend who will then proceed to make me feel like a jackass becasue what I just said totally contradicts the truth.

I never read the reviews in NME. They confuse me. Like what Asparagus Sin Drum said, "They sound like the sound of New Order being bumfucked with a spiky metal dildo by the Yeah Yeah Yeah's Karen O".

That was absolutely hilarious.

The NME is no more than a 70(or so)-page advert nowadays.

Selfish Cunt are terrible, in the same vein as Razorlight et al. We can all take hard drugs and pretend we make good music.

I don't have that many issues of NME, but I have this one where they are hyping up Keane and one from a few months later mocking them.

NME hypes bands and then they can destroy their reputation...it's quite strange

I don't like magazines they seem to be one-sided most of the time. I don't like to read what other people think of music, it usually doesn't help my decision when I am at a store ready to purchase a CD.
