i love bloc party i think they are really good, i tried to get tix to one of their shows but it was all sold out. i cant wait till their album comes out! im deffinately gunna try to catch them next time they come around.

They are getting really huge in the UK right now..they played Reading and Leeds last year-they were really low down the bill in one of the tents (cant remember which one) but i do predict they will be quite high up on the main stage this year.

correct me if im wrong, but i think they've only released a EP in the US. a full album will come out at the end of march. from what ive heard so far, i think theyre pretty good. but they need to develope their sound a little more, or else theyre gonna get tagged with the Franz Ferdinand/Futureheads label

I've heard them three times, and really haven't enjoyed them at all. They just seem to be another piece of pointlessness. Few of you will agree though, because they're the Thing Of The Moment.

speaking of pointlessness, did you really have to add that last sentence? the whole "oh its just hype" argument is as pointless as the "band is selling out" debate. really, i get tired of the "oh its just hype" thing, because its a lazy approach to music criticism

Actually, vicky, I believe you're correct....or at least I agree with you. I liked what I heard after time, but it sorta drifted away. (Thank god, I'm the equivalent of a jet setter at my school. ) For example, I like the Kings of Leon a lot right now, but I probably won't in (most likely less than) 4 months.

But bad taste can mean offensive. "Jackass is in bad taste" etc. Oh god, I'm lecturing someone about grammar, and there I go starting a sentence with the word 'but'. You're not supposed to do that, are you? And you're not supposed to start sentences with 'and'.

maybe we should just let it drop. too much grammar can give you a headache

Uhhh... anyway. I don't like Bloc Party. Too many spiky new wave guitars around recently. Except The Futureheads, they get away with it because they throw some weirdness and originality into the mix. Four different vocal melodies at once, strange time signatures, that sort of thing.
