I don't think lack of time has anything to do with shortness of the songs. Craig himself said that he preferred them that way and that labels often told him to 'add another chorus at the end' but 'they stuck to [their] guns'.

yeah bro they gonna take their time so they make sure they don't write 2 minute songs and fill the album with songs that are overly long with tons of wanky slash type solos. screw quality songs yo' it's about quantity

Songs like Merrygoround work fine as short songs, they have a full complete sound.

Songs like He's a rocker, Manger.... all sound half finished.

Theres no depth to them. A few short simple songs are cool, but their not a punk band, and a n album worth of short songs just makes the whole thing sound so rushed.

Theres no In The Jungle, 1969, Winning Days anymore.

Melodia to me sounds like Craig wrote all the songs in 5 minutes. theres no different layers of guitar and careful thought about it.
The next album is now almost predictable, its going to be a bunch of 2 minute songs with a not very well thought out 6 minute song, which relys heavily on strings to try and make it sound "epic".

1969 is their masterpiece

But on topic. The interview was good although I left it to load for about half hour and it loaded about four seconds, so I gave up. I only watched half of it.

Although I'd like to hear some Vines demos soon. Even if it's uber early stuff. I just wanna hear some demos because I still havent bought Melodia because I can't afford it.
