I think we all have differences, but very tiny differences compared to the big similarities.
Hence, why look at skin color?
Because in the US, we very much still have racists...and I do think it's cute that you think racism is near its end.
QUOTE(BenGreen @ Nov 10 2008, 05:33 PM)

Democracy really works then in US, or politics are improving, because Obama is African-American, and the Woman obtained an incredible "second place": Vice President of the United Sates.
Do you think that Hillary Clinton is the next Vice President? I know you're not in the US, so I can forgive a little, but this is not the case. His running mate, and the next Vice President, is a white man named Joe Biden.

Thank you! Joe Biden is the elected VPOTUS, not Sarah Palin (mistake)

But no woman in the cabinet isn't democracy at 100%.
Lately, I started believing in those "conspiracy" theories, hence, I think I agree with those arguments you gave about politics and religion.

I'm sorry to skip everything else, but:
Why does everyone call Obama "Barack HUSSEIN Obama" and no one ever calls McCain "John SYDNEY McCain"? I'm not being snarky, this is a genuine question.
People who do that say his middle name because it sounds ~Middle Eastern~ and like a ~scary Muslim terrorist~. It's quite racist and all around nasty and unnecessary. I consider it the Godwin's Law of election 2008.

I didn't pay attention:
he's called "Barack Hussein Obama"? Isn't a strange coincidence with Saddam Hussein the President of Iraq?
Obama was born to be a leader then.

Yeah, it's not like Hussein is a wildly popular name or anything.

Barack Obama ftw.
Some of the mistakes from both parties have been hilarious though.
Barack Obama: "I've been to er.. 57 states I think with three more to go."
Biden (Addressing a man in a wheelchair): "Thankyou. Stand up and take a bow. Oh sorry."
Reporter: "So, which papers do you read?"
Palin: "Err.... All of them."
Reporter: "Which in particular?"
Palin: "Any infront of me, all of them."

I'll agree with them....
...but only as soon as Barack Obama doesn't act on global warming, starts a pre-emptive war based on false pretenses (with the wrong country, no less) and then fucks it up, appoints his cleaning lady (ie, Harriet Meyers) to the Supreme Court, leaves Evolution into question, outs a CIA agent (Valerie Plame), doesn't act on New Orleans' levees not being strong enough (and then leave its people in ruins after a hurricane), makes torture an official policy, widely creates "Free speech zones" in the middle of nowhere during important events, purges US Attorneys, makes a guy who ran horse shows the head of FEMA, let the one guy the US was supposed to have captured get away (Osama Bin Laden)....you know, the kind of things that George Bush did. If Obama does any of that, then I'll be with them...
Until then, these guys are just blowing smoke.

Iam all with being "green" but it is a fair bit ridiculous. For one I think it's a tad too late to start change around the world. Basically the world is going into an ice age regardless if you throw your pop cans into a separate container or change your light bulbs. It's evolution & it happens to everything. Oh well, recycle, reduce, reuse until then

Which is essentially the same. If you tell somebody they can do something, but that 'something' will not have any impact on anything whatsoever, I would guess that it will have the same effect as if you tell them they really don't have to do anything.
I find it frightening how people went from "Global warming? Meh, you can't even prove it's manmade, why bother?" to "Global warming? Meh, we're all fucked anyway, why bother?" without actually doing as little as turning off the fucking lights when they don't actually need them somewhere in between.

Talking about global warming...according to a lecture in youtube about Energy trends, the greenhouse gases emissions will rise to a toxic level, and there will be no more fossil fuels around the world, like 50 years from now.

Yep. That is when we're set to run out of coal and oil and stuff.
Well thats gonna be a big kick in the teeth for humanity.

Yeah, I totally support wind power, too. Coal and oil are no good anyway. Especially the latter can be a reason to, um... fight about. I mean... you can get wind power everywhere, you don't need to invade a country to get what you want, eh.
