Bad choice- as great as the song is- the tempo changes make for an awkward listen. Still at least it's not braindead.

Its not awkward for me. The tempo changes is what makes it interesting.

I agree.. plus you get a bit of a break before you go mental in the chorus

kind of like in "He's A Rocker"

Great song won't be played much though. Radio has really hit new lows in the last few years here in Melbourne and "MerryGoRound" would be too "loud" for them to play and not radio friendly enough, Triple J would give it a spin though. Even the once supposed rock station Triple M play mainly play classic rock now with their loudest bands being shitty 80's hair metal.

I don't see why the tempo change would be 'awkward' to listen to - if anything, it grabs your attention and makes sure it's not overlooked like other songs on the radio.

I think the video should be a merry go round, but when it speeds up, it actually goes that speed and they have to try and stay on while performing the song. Would be hilarious.

I don't get what everyone's sayin about the tempo changes, as long as it sounds good I don't see the problem.

Obviously the ultimate decider will be when the song is played on the radio, how people react and if it continues to get air.
I believe it will do pretty well though as I remember hearing Merry Go Round and digging it straight away along with Manger. Who knows maybe Manger will be the third single

i think the idea about the speeding up the merry go round is good. i thought the same thing the other day but when it sped up the room would go dark and there would be strob light too.

and it would be perfect because you would be able to see the merrygoround slow down again and while that was happening the strob would slow down to and along with the music of course. but its probably going to be nothing at all with a merry go round. ahaha

I think that was kind of the point for this video, though.
I wish it had been executed better (syncronicity, better choreography, better costumes, kissing people actually looking like they enjoy the kissing more than the cameras, ect), but what can you do? At least it's getting a fair bit of airtime.
I would love something that stands out for this single.
