I hardly post here anymore but I still read the board and honestly, I am getting soooo tired of reading how the record label is doing such a bad job. We are not behind the scenes. We do not know what the label/management are trying to do for the band. Perhaps things are being held up that are out of management's control, like offers that are not beneficial to the band, etc? Or maybe the offers aren't many. Let's face it, the band aren't where they used to be anymore. Shit happens. A number of factors are to blame here. There's not just one reason but that's just how it goes sometimes.
What I do know for fact is that management truly care about the band and I highly doubt they'd do anything to sabotage The Vines.
It is a difficult time right now for them and I do pray The Vines can overcome any obstacles set before them but as fans, we need to be supportive and patient.
And to be fair, I wouldn't have allowed the extra tracks offered by iTunes and Insound to be shared here if it may hinder sales, because that's what the band really needs, especially now.
This is a critical time for them so if things like promotion aren't available for them at the moment, fans should take this opportunity to become sort of street teamers for the band, buy the album for friends and family and do all you can to keep the band working.
Let's stop blaming Ivy League for everything because it's really not fair since we do not know all of the facts.
True we dont know whats going on behind the scenes, thats another problem with the label is that there is a lack of communications with the fans. Just to give us a few brief updates here and there would be nice.
And yes there may be complications which are holding things up.... but how hard is it to knock out a couple of posters and put them up. Or by a small advertising space in some magazines and put adverts in. Theres absolutely nothing stopping them from doing that.
Im sorry but at the moment the only people i can see putting the blame on are Ivy League, I'm sure they do care about The Vines, but they just seem to be pretty slack on what they do for them. It took quite awhile for The Vines new video to be put up on their youtube account. For ages they had just the old guy who makes no sense. there website is still "in development", and theres been zero advertisement in the UK.
as for the exlcusive extra song, ive already pre-ordered the album from OZ, im not going to buy another album from america just to get one song. and im sure its the same for everyone else. Everyone on here wants the album to do well and will buy a copy, but i think its pretty unfair to expect people to buy 2 copies of it just to get 1 song.
Out of interest too linda... what happened to Dreamintheinsane's forum?? I keep going back to check on it, but it doesnt look like its been used for months!
