Oh I know! If that guitar had travelled just a little bit further in the air it would have hit someone on the head . I guess these are the dangers a person has to accept when seeing The Vines . Though usually injuries are caused by members of the crowd and not instruments . She was so excited to get to see the band though, she was saying that she was hoping to get to see them while she was in Australia because they never go to Europe. And I believe Andy put her on the door for the Triple J gig coming up . I can't go to that one since I'll be off in the middle of nowhere for placement by then *sigh* .

Oh... and it looks like there'll be an Australian tour in late October. It isn't confirmed yet, but those are the tentative plans for the moment .

haha! yeah, my knee looks a bit nasty, though. and it could have turned out different, but I'm okay it was soo sweet of craig that he came down to apologize! I mean, just the fact that I was on a vines concert and had the plac of him was exiting enough to me. I don't mean that I'm happy that he threw his guitar on me, but you know I had the chance to say thanks to him, for this wonderful music and for being my role model. that means a lot to me!

I don't know if the guy who took my e-mail adress will actually get in toch with me, but it would be the biggest thing for me to see them live again, and to hear the old songs too before I return to switzerland. the new songs were much better than I've ever expected, and everyone who said that their live shows are crappy, dear me, they're not! they are all fantastic musicians, and sound live even better!

Awww here you are! Wow that's awesome to come all the way from Switzerland and got to see this little channel v gig! I'm so sad to be away in America missing it! But yeah, I've seen them enough times than I can't complain . Who was it that was going to contact you? One of the Andys? Cos I think they would (and if not...hehe...we might remind him ). Cos you definitely deserve to go! and not just cos you got hit by the guitar! (that boy's gotta be more careful with his guitar!)

you know, me and a few guys were waiting outside (after a bouncer kicked us out) to catch them up. then I had to go, 'cause my oncle was there to pick me up. just as I walked to the car, one of the guys walked backstage, and I think it was Ryan who gave him the adress of Hamish, who had a home party. Can you believe this? aaargh, I was SOO close!

I've had my suspicions that this gig will be the next triple J free secret gig.. (the next will be announced on monday morning).. probably coz there was tiny section in the jmag saying something about a Vines gig and to listen to triple J to find out more about it. That and the fact there's a random picture of Craig on the website's events page without any info.. ... i bet you anything it will be ANOTHER over 18s though..

Maybe Ryan thought it was more convenient to invite the lucky duck to Hamish's place because Hamish is probably the only one with a relatively clean flat - he's just switched houses so it can't be really messy while there's probably pyramids of Corona bottles and dirty socks at Ryan's place. ( )

I was filming and pretty much watching through the camera screen... and I saw him throw it and I was thinking "it's not coming towards me is it?"

I didn't get footage of the guitar flying though, just him jumping into the pit and hugging you.

Glad everyone had a good time, I thought it may have only been a matter of time till one audience member got a guitar thrown towards them, but luckily it wasn't anything serious.

I hope this doesnt mean Craig stops going wild though at the end of the set. Thats my favourite bit, and I think we're all ok with getting a few bruises while seeing The Vines! infact, Its expected!

Actually Andy K was telling us how someone has actually been hit in the head with Craig's guitar once - a girl no less - but she was alright. I had my lip cut at a Vines gig too when a guy fell on my head. Totally worth it.

Back in 2004 when i saw the Vines, some girl got hit by the microphone stand that Craig threw into the audience.

I have no idea what show you're talking about. But i am talking about the show they did in L.A. in April of 2004. It was at the end of their set for the evening, and right before they walked off the stage, Craig took the whole microphone stand and threw it into the audience and walked off. Oblivous to whether he might have hurt anyone or not.
I know she was hurt because a crowd formed around her. She wasn't seriously hurt, but hurt none the less. She was very stunned and shocked as to what just happened.

That show was awesome. Ali and Joey - I saw you guys there but was too shy to say hello. Its been ages since the annandale gigs and since I met you. I thought I might come off a little weird.


I won tickets on the channel V site too, obviously they dont go by writing talent (In my case anyway) I summarised my followings of them around Australia the last 2 years. Paid off!

I won my tickets through the Facebook giveaway, not Channel V, so that was based purely on being the first 20 people to send an email to that address. Not sure whether Ali won through Channel V or the giveaway...
