QUOTE(Project 86 @ Jul 1 2008, 06:05 PM)

I just got an email from JB-whatever saying that my pre-order was backordered. Now I'm kinda freaked. How can something signed be backordered? I mean, you should know how many signed copies you have. Or could they be waiting to see how many are ordered before they actually sign them? Or maybe I just ordered too late...
"Item: Melodia (Bonus CD) (Signed Copy)
Current Status: Backordered by supplier - awaiting receipt."
I mean, if a store runs out of signed CDs, are they really gonna get any more? Any why would they even tell me, yet, if they're backordered? It's not like they're gonna ship them them on July 1st.
If anybody knows anything about this stuff, lemme know. I'm kinda wiggin' out right now...
I got the same e-mail
I would hope they would have enough integrity to not dick us on our orders - that if we paid for a SIGNED copy, they will be signed. I want that bonus Ivy League CD, dammit! I'm excited about a SIGNED copy of the NEW VINES album......but seriously! 2 CDs for $25? That's a fuckin' deal, especially since I love Australian music and I want to hear more from the label

I dunno why I'm in eternal optimist mode right now, but I'm not that worried. If I can't order it from JB, I'll order it in America...and that'll contribute to the total sales in the States. Hooray!
And, oddly enough, I'm also kinda excited that they are backordered - it'd be pitiful if they were drowning in signed CDs nobody wanted

...and I can't believe there is actually a wiki entry on "backorder"

"Many vendors and retail businesses run into the problem of having backordered items, when they are waiting for the Manufacterer of a certain product(s) to deliver the expected goods. The manufacturer will give the vendor an expected date as to when the backordered item should be received. This date then becomes the backorder date for that specific item(s)."
I guess we just wait and see if they ever give us a date...
