I was the person who recorded the Australian MTV music awards performance and unfortunately i'm going to be away friday night. And its a family related thing so i can't squeeze my way out of it!

I hope someone else can record it!!!

There will probably be someone recording it and putting it on youtube. Even if they're not on here. Or so I hope

Quite a few people not from this forum recorded The Vines on the MTV Awards, but it took them all atleasy a few days to put them up. So I think we are going have to wait.

It will be worth the wait. I remain optimistic about someone recording it and putting it on youtube because I know someone will do that so I don't worry about it. Even if it does take a few more days before I get to see the video.

they had that old spanish guy talking at the start, the golden dancers, and a row of people making out it was weird. and you could barely see the dogs.

I watched it on chanel V too, had to wait an hour though which was stupid.
I thought the French guy at the beginning was pretty awesome there's a better clip of him on youtube posted by IvyLeague.

The dog show thing, the dancers and the couples making out were a bit confusing at first but then i figured it out, Like everything goes wild for the chorus but then during the verse everything is tame and controlled.
The overall performance by the guys was brilliant

Ever since somebody mentioned the gold leotards I half-expected Richard Simmons to show up somewhere in the middle. What a disappointment.
I still don't like the song. The mixing makes it sound as if it had been recorded through a string phone.
The dancers remind me of An End Has A Start by Editors, only the Vines' dancers are sluttier. The French gentleman needs to be included in their live shows. Ya, really.
First guy in the make out session scene: nice kissing technique.

Hm, let's look at this from a semi-detailed perspective;

- BRILLIANT intro! Eccentric older men are a good way to start a video, even moreso if they're French (whoever said Spanish: go back to school).
- Ah, the band performing. Nothing we haven't seen before. Craig looks well fit, though, but that's a given. Oh, but what do we have there...
- Tacky dancers! People making out! At this point I'm slightly turned off. Just because the new single sounds like it could do well on MTV doesn't mean it should have the type of video to accompany it.

Then they brought out the dogs and I was completely lost.

All in all I'd say it was a very good video, if only for making me laugh, gag AND go a little insane within merely two minutes.

But then ehm I don't really like those dancers or the dogs or those teens making out. They could've just pointed the camera at the band so we saw more of the guys.
And oh wow Craig His hair is getting longer again. I just love his hair in the video. That's one of few things I like about the video.

But it's not that bad. Perhaps I need to watch it again. It's a funny little video

I actually don't mind the dancers...I was amused by how they couldn't keep in rhythm with each other for the fucking life of them.

The line of making out people was....weird and unnecessary.

The ring of dogs were cute, especially cause you see one woman subtly boppin along to the music LOL

The whole band looked mighty smashing.

It looks very 80's, to me. Especially with the dancers. Thats SO 80's. SOOO "Solid Gold"....if any of you are aware of that TV series from the 80's...you'll know what i mean. lol
And the making out couples was just so lame. Thats also very 80's. And it must sound like i don't like 80's videos...

And i don't know what the dogs were for. They were barely even noticeable. I would have loved to see them more..and to heck with the other kerrap. haha

I like it, not too special, kinda like gross out or dont listen to the radio...i guess they didnt have much money, you have too consider that. they cant do like expensive outtathaway vids with david la chappelle anymore, they dont have that much money for it...but hey, its cool anyways

Firstly, parody anyone? I really doubt that this concept was taken very seriously, especially if Craig had anything to do with it. Seems very much in line with his sense of humour to me. I'm surprised they didn't whip out the eyeliner and hairstraighteners, tbh.

I liked it. And I have to say that I like the song more now than I did before, though it still seems a bit weak for a lead single. The old man at the beginning was perfect. I love how someone off camera asked the girl to ask him a question, and she just repeated it to him in english.

Also, could it kill you to syncronize girls?

Despite it looking like it was made on a £10 budget, its just dull and to be honest the band look like they could be playing any old song, because they dont sync up at all!
(i mean this in the sense that backing vocals appear from no where, and craigs mouth rarely touches the mic!)
They get ryan to do out of tune backing vocals when they play live, but not in the video??!!

The only thing that really bugged me about it was the dancers' unison, and the one girl in the make out line who looked all "OMG I'm kissing a boy and there's a camera on me." You could tell that they'd just started kissing as the camera rolled to them, which was a little WTF?

I hereby declare Aurrrrrrrel my biggest role model and ultimate hero. I wonder if he was randomly picked off a street (this might sound dirty, but it really isn't), or if he's actually known the band from before, and if so, how come?
I hope he makes an appearance in all the videos to come. Along with Richard Simmons. That would be pretty much the best thing ever.

I like how the camera swings at one point and reveals the people (directors/producers/assistants, I'm guessing) just standing there. I thought that was a pretty neat detail.

The Vines look sooo out of place, Gross Out and DLTTR both would have cost less than this video and look 100x better!!!

I have not yet checked who produced the He's a rocker video clip.
But does any one reckon it is simular to 'The Mess Hall' video clips?

Ah ok the video's working now. So uhm, yeah...that video was pretty amusing, but it would've been more amusing if Craig would've ran through the dancers and pushed them all over or something. Or dumped a bucket of green slime on the row of people making out. Or if the floor dropped into a pool of man-eating sharks where those people were walking their dogs around in circles...I donno why but they all just pissed me off. The guy in the begginning was cool though, as were The Vines of course.
