Just 'four, five', I think, nothing mysterious or satanic, I'm afraid.

well... six comes after four and five!! so it could be like repeated three times, but in a really low frequency so we can't consciously recognise it and it's saying 666!! omigosh!

Im in the UK, and just got my signed copy of the album from Auz.
Btw has anyone read the inside of the Ivy League CD you get with it.
It has some stuff about the Vines, and even has a picture of the letter craig wrote to Andy about their demos. Its pretty funny and childlike, even has some pictures drawn on it too! Tis pretty cool!

I feel I should write something about what I think of the album now that I've heard it several times.
I don't seem to be taking to Get Out, Manger, and Braindead at all. They're strong tracks, but I don't really favor them. Although, Get Out is a good starter for the album. I'm really glad they didn't name the album "Braindead." Wouldn't fit at all.
Still disappointed in AS III. I had hoped it would grow on me, and it still might, but not as of now. Similarly for True As Night, it hasn't quite grown on me yet. It's a really nice song, though, I do like the chorus.
Ah, Kara Jayne. Straight up don't like it. Vocals are eh.
Initially, Merrygoround was an okay song, but I really took to it after a few listens.
A Girl I Knew and She Is Gone are really sweet songs. I really like how they contrast the more energetic/loud songs. She Is Gone is a great closer.
Orange Amber, Hey, and She Is Gone are still my favorites. Plus Merrygoround.

This is a bit off topic but I dunno where else to post it.
Does anybody know the lyrics to:
-Make Believe
-Hey Now
-Blue Jam?
And quick question about He's A Rocker lyrics..
Is it:
C'mon let's trip again.
Just like how we used to
I wanna trip again.
We ain't got nothin' to lose.
OR
C'mon let's trip again.
At least I know when it's through
I wanna trip again.
We ain't got nothin' to lose.
It sounds more like 'just like how we used to'??

tbh, melodia is pretty poor.
All the songs seem to follow the same tune and the only ones that jump out at me are He's a rocker and Kara-Jayne. which i think is bad for such a long-awaited album.
I've shocked myself by not liking it.
Personally, i think the band have lost it. Maybe if i listen to it abit more, it'll grow on me, but it's rare for me to skip vines songs.

Here is what it says about the Vines in the booklet:
Against this backdrop of fluctuant fortunes and trying to keep their heads about water, in March 2000, Cassell was crossing the Sydney Harbour bridge listening to a test broadcast of the then aspirant Sydney community radio station, FBi. A rather odd sounding young man was answering questions from the would be dj in a stoner drawl of mainly monosyllabic sentences, The dj, whist reading from their bio said, “Your sound has been described as a cross between Nirvana and The Beatles”. Cassel reached his destination before the interview had concluded and was too intrigued to get out of the car until their song was plated. A demo of In The Jungle by an unheard of Sydney group called the Vines blasted out of the small speakers.
It took some work to track the Vines down. There were are few clues from the FBi interview, and Cassel Eventually obtained a phone umber from the booker of one of the few venues the band had played at, the Iron Duke Hotel in Alexandra, It was later revealed that they had recently been banned from the pub after the singer had refused to leave the stage when told their set was being cut short due to the previous band playing over their allotted time. That singer was Craig Nicholls, a quietly intense young songwriter, whose band had evolved not through live shows but through 4- track recordings made mostly on a machine with only three functioning tracks. Nicholls ignored his phone most of the time, so in desperation Casell eventually wrote a letter asking him to send songs. Shortly afterwards a demo was received, accompanied by a note that looked to have been written by a small child. It got straight to the point. "We have heaps more songs besides these six and would really appreciate the opportunity to record our first full length album.” More songs arrived, including demos of Get Free, Highly Evolved and Ride, and Cassell, Lusty and Kelly, were duly blown away.
Once the three men had seen the Vines playing live at the Lansdowne Hotel in Chippendale on an otherwise quiet Tuesday Night, they were floored by the ricocheting Nicholls sand his static band. Kelly told one interviewer that he felt like he’d “seen the Sex Pistols…amazing”
Cassel Lusty and Kelly spend the next few months encouraging them to continue writing and demoing. The band played very few live gigs. In time Winterman and Goldstein had assumed management of the intriguing group, and within 18 months The Vines had signed to Capitol in the USA and things were about to change, not just for Ivy League and the inner west music scene but the entire Australian music industry.
As interest in the Vines began to grow internationally, Ivy League’s activities subsided somewhat as the Winterman and Goldstein management side of the business battened down the hatches for the stow that was to follow. In 12 short months, The Vines’ debut album Highly Evolved had entered the top 12 in the USA, UK, and Australia and went on to sell 1.5 million copies around the world The UK press had fallen head over heels in love with the bands’ primal melodies and the increasingly bizarre behaviour of Nicholls (who was later to be diagnosed with Apergers Syndrome, a high Functioning for of Ausim. Incendiary appearances at festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, Coachella as well as the US MTV awards further cemented the band’s reputation as on one of the hottest acts in the world in 2002, and they became the first Australian band for 20 years to grace of cove of US Rolling Stone. Needless to say, there was very little time for running a label.
