That sucks! Everyone's got the album yet, and I'm keep on staring in an empty mailbox.
I mean I'd have bought it, no problem. But if they promise me to send some stuff and it's arriving a lot later than the release of the album, even if they had a whole week, man.. I don't know.
I just want the album

My CD came in the post today

I've been listening to it all day. True as the Night, Braindead and Merrygoround are my favourites at the moment. I got the signed verison, but Brad's signature seems to be missing.

There aren't any pics in the booklet, but I suppose there are enough on the cover. The designs in the book are really cool, and the handwriting looks like it could be Craigs. I even noticed some spelling mistakes

I personally thought Vision Valley was a really weak effort from The Vines. However, Melodia is probably one of the best things I've heard all year. The Vines are back as far as I'm concerned.
I have to agree. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate Vision Valley but I don't believe it's the best they could have put out.

I listened to vision valley for the first time in ages the other day and I had forgotten quite how much I liked it and it made me super excited for melodia. All the vines albums have a little 'something' about them, some people might not like it but they're all special in their own way.
I think the thing that made me appreciate VV so much more the other day is knowing what a dark place it was written from and what a dark album it actually is, and then having melodia to contrast with it and knowing how far craig and the boys have come along since it's release at incredibly uncertain times for the band.

Wow.

I got the album on iTunes, but the layout for the booklet is quite groovy.

I've ordered a fair few things from the US and just last month i ordered a CD on a Tuesday and got it here in Australia on the Tuesday the following week... but i think you guys have an extra day that the post operates there. JB hifi mailed Melodia on Thursday according to their email but i don't think that's true 'cause i woulda got it the next day like all my other orders from them but i got it on Monday... so they really mailed it Friday. Which means taking into account no mail on weekends in Aus, you should get it on Monday July 21... or i could be wrong.

International people it will probably take about 7-10 days to arrive.
MisplacedKeys
Jul 16 2008, 09:05 AM
Regarding international deliveries: I believe most companies have the policy that if the item doesn't arrive in 21 days you get a refund, so the maximum wait would be 3 weeks. It usually takes a week for intercontinental airmail to arrive, I think.
In other news, New Zealand's 3 News aired a segment reviewing Melodia, and you can
watch it here. It's got a review of Beck's new album at the beginning and the part about The Vines starts about 2 minutes in, I think.
Also,
here's a review by Twelve Major Chords.

I like the new album, though it seems to lack consistancy, it doesnt flow as well as the other albums. Orange Amber, she is gone, true as the night and merry go round are reminders of why we stuck by the band for this long but sadly songs like braindead, hes a rocker, scream, get out and AS3 are a painful reminder that this band is pretty much stuck in a rut musically and are practically dead and buried in the u.k and u.s.
I have listened to the album quite a bit and i do enjoy it there are some extremely catchy tunes on there, yet theres something about it that bugs me. For the first time im actually getting bored of listening to it thats never happened before! I'll support the band and i can't wait to see them live, perhaps lack of media over here makes them less exciting.
Recently i have bought all the supergrass albums and the vines are quite similar, the difference is that supergrass can pull a fantastic album out of there arse (diamond hoo ha man) and the vines just stick to a formula that is slowly dying.

i haven't been on here in so long but I was reading a couple messages back about how 'a girl i knew' is about Harry or something? heh I think this is bananas, It possibly could be but right away everyone jumps at the thought that it HAS to be her, i mean, who's to say it is a girl we don't know of or just a made up song.. I don't know, I just think some people will grab at anything.. even if it's about her then whats the big deal? haha Everyone writes about relationships, why can't Craig?
