So generally the books are better than the movies.

Any exceptions?

I thought The Virgin Suicides film actually did the book justice. Fight Club wasn't a bad transition either.

I liked JANE EYRE, with John Hurt

CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND wasn't bad either.

I think the films of The Lord of the Rings were better then the books, but I watched the films first so that probably swayed my opinion. I sound like such a nerd. pinch.gif

I think Memoirs of a Geisha was good, but the book was better. Still, it was really good. Also heard that The Lovely Bones was getting made into a movie. The book was grand, so we shall see.

Oooh, I just thought of something that could be the best movie ever.

The one based on 'Heavier Then Heaven' (The Kurt Cobain bio),

If you havent heard about it, basically Courtney sold the film rights, thats about as far as it got atm, but yeah, it could be great or terrible. :S

The adaptation of 1984 wasn't half shabby. Liked Fight Club as well. Breakfast On Pluto was infinitely better than the novel, something which I don't say very often.

Of course, all these adaptations are being shat on by the Dorian Gray adaptation from 1945. Perfection at the very least.

Yep. It's being directed by Peter Jackson. I think I read it somewhere. Probably Wikipedia? : D

Looking for Alibrandi is a good one!
The Little Escapologist
The Bridjet Jones's diary is far away batter on books, Hugh Grant hasn't his place on the second...

And I think only the 2 first Harry potter were as great as the book, but strating from the Askaban one, the books were better!
Vine Freak
The book of The Devil wears Prada is much better then the movie.

I definitely liked the book tons better, but the movie wasn't bad.
