Belive me, I was holding back. I don't mean to be rude, but this really is appalling. As far as I can see it's completely illogical. The band have missed too many opportunities to expand their fanbase and get themselves back into the public eye through not being in touch with the opportunities modern media has to offer them to stay in touch with their fans. Every other band on the planet is being innovative and taking advantage of those opportunities, and we can't even get a decent website up and running. It's been down for months now and that is just unacceptable. It's the band who suffer as a result of this, and after everything else I don't think they need that right now. This simply won't be the big comeback that we and the band want if they don't get the promotion right- they can say they want the music to do the talking all they want, but if no one knows the music is there, then what good is it? I see it as one of our duties as fans of the band to make sure that everything is being done in the band's best interests, I honestly can't believe that more people aren't making a bigger fuss about this.
amen and amen. as much as i like the people involved in the vines organization, their promotion for the band throughout VV and leading up to the new album has been piss poor at best. it's like they don't understand we're in the new millennium with all this technology at their fingertips that not only should make their job of promoting the band worldwide easier but it's not even that expensive!!
it's easy and cheap enough to pay an individual or small web business to do a band's webpage. they've got lizzy doing the band's myspace and linda running the fanclub for FREE. but they have to take the time to share news, music, pictures etc. with these outlets and for whatever reason of theirs - that's not getting done.
and, tyler, you're right. it's the band who will ultimately pay the price with an album that arrives and quickly disappears if they don't start taking advantage or these opportunities to lure new listeners and fans to the band.
