THE VINES have nearly finished mixing their forthcoming album with producer Rob Schnapf (who produced their albums Highly Evolved and Winning Days) and by all preliminary reports, it’s freaking amazing. They also hit Austin, Texas South by South West for their first US shows in four years and played sold out show at New York's Bowery Ballroom and the Troubadour in LA in March. Their blistering performances, where they showcased many of their new songs, sparked glowing reviews. The Vines will release their new single He’s A Rocker on June 28. This is the first single from their much-anticipated fourth album, which will be released on Ivy League Records in July. They were the mystery act at Splendour 2006. Now they return as a marquee act at SPLENDOUR 08.

$340 for tickets and camping . I'm thinking of going... depends if I can face up to the 7 hour drive... and I'll have to go by myself cause I've got a health equity placement out in Collarenabri and Lightning Ridge in August and I won't know anyone there. Hmmm...

It's not!!! I love byron! Well my cousin lives there but it is awesome! and you can fly to the Gold Coast, only about 50 min drive from the airport to byron and if you're flying within aus the flights are normally cheap if you book around about now, a few months before
They're normally about 59 or 69 dollars one way from Newcastle, it's pretty good
but i guess you gotta find accomodation, I'm lucky I can stay with family
They hold basically the best music festivals there in aus (in my opinion), Bluesfest and Splendour. oh apart from big day out

He basically talked about the other bands they enjoyed such as Devo, Band Of Horses, The Living End etc. And the Interviewer woman said she saw Craig at the very front like as close as you can be to the stage when The Music were playing and he seemed to be really enjoying himself.
They play in about half an hour or so. Pictures and reviews will be posted on the Triple J website.

Lucky bastard...The Music are SO FREAKIN GOOD live. I actually enjoyed their set a lot more than I did the Vines' set (granted this was at the very end of the Highly Evolved tour, and the guys obviously had quite enough of the whole tour thing).

There were some assholes at the start throwing things at Craig, one just narrowly missing his head. Craig responded with "If you're going to throw shit at least do it properly and hit me in the fuckin' head!" (Those weren't his exact words but that's what I can remember.)
The moshing was insane, they got the crowd going more than any other band I'd seen that day.
