At this point middle of December. They'd like to stay through January.

I seem to remember reading that shnapf has a family and kids to worry about and doesn't like to leave them... no idea where I got that from. I hope they don't spend too long over there- the more time they spend, the more overdubs you know are happening. A record with shiny american style production is a big no no for me.
anything beyond the end of January and I think they will have been there for too long. Great news that they have gotten started though, so exciting. The first feew days will be bloody boring of course, setting everything up, placing mics, testing pre amps and amps, and testing everything to make sure they have the right sounds, tones and acoustics before the real work begins. so exciting!

They already have the songs worked out. I wouldn't be surprised if they got all the recording done in a month at all. You can usually do between 2 and 5 songs a day if you do the 10 hour or 2 5 hour block deal. But, it would be nice for them to be around a bit, save Hamish, the guys havn't been in the states for a while. I don't think they're repeat what they did with Winning Days production wise.

OMG!!! Yay!! Mid December? I hope so, in time for Christmas! My family were thinking of going down to visit my cousins in L.A. or Vegas for thanksgiving but they changed their minds and now it's too late to go anywhere . imagine running into them at a fast food place out in the open

but once recording is done there'll be a fair amount of post recording stuff to do, mixing etc. That all takes time and it's just as important as the recording itself to get right. Plus arranging distribution, marketing, checking that the record companies like it etc and are happy to release it. I reckon we'll be looking at a late february release, supposing they get everything done in december.

Yeah theres no way they'll have it done by Christmas.

Hollywood is over hyped.... theres like 2 blocks of interesting stuff... the Capitol Tower.... which you can see at the end of the 2 blocks

and the huge movie studio complexes are cool

would be an interesting place to live... but too expensive. San Fran I love with a passion.

That's what's it's like around the boards most of the time. Take it or leave it!

The first week is just about over. And no podcast has been made. They flew into LA, met up with Rob, been doing preproduction planning and rehearsals, saw Silverchair Tuesday night, were hungover on Wednesday, and ate a lot of food on Thursday. They start the actual recording this coming Monday.
