Time does not progress linearly in Vinesverse, or so it seems. *sigh* Not only 'once a year' is perceived differently in their world, aging doesn't affect them either.
I would greatly appreciate a Sufjan Stevens move from them, ie an album for every state. But Australia has got less states than the US, so they'd have to do one for every ... country in the world. Yeah, I would quite like that.

OH MY GOD you guys, this is so exciting (I just made a weird squeaky noise), and thanks for the update!!!! Sooo, now we got a pretty good idea for how far along they are and when it should come out. Done by Feb. hoooly sheeeit, but mid-year release, that seems so far away. Oh well, as long as it's the best it could possibly be, which I'm sure it will be AHmazing by the sounds of things. I'm excited about the hardcore "shicka shicka" as well. Craig and Ryan are over in LA right now, working on the new album EEK.

I actually cant wait for this album. Im a good citizen and download all my music, but this album, I will buy. It will sit proudly beside my Nirvana albums.. wherever I left them.

On a not completely related note: could there be PLEASE something done about their official website? The release date for Vision Valley is still up and now the people that are so interested they bothered checking the website think the new album is out April 4. No wonder there's rumours.

Apparently, their LA stay isn't all work and no party, Craig and Ryan attended Switches' gig in LA @ Crash Mansion!
And Matt Bishop of Switches just loooooves Craig. for Matt!

S: Have you guys had any standout moments? Amazing experiences?

M: My standout moment was uhh, last weekend, the one before the Arizona one, we played in LA and I got to meet one of my all time heroes, Craig Nicholls from The Vines. He came to our show because we recorded our album with a guy named Rob Schnapf, and he also made a lot of their albums, and they’re currently working with him on their new record. So he brought them down to see the show, and he really enjoyed it so we got to hang out afterwards, which was the best night of my life. So, to get to meet one of your heroes who you’ve been listening to their music for upwards of 5 years, that’s really cool. For me, that’s my favorite part of the tour so far.

S: I remember seeing them on the Highly Evolved tour.

M: Yeah, the first album. That’s when they were really huge.

S: They put on a great performance.

M: Yeah, they uhh, the last album wasn’t such a big success but I think that’s because he didn’t tour it. He was having a lot of personal issues, issues with his Asperger’s. But he’s back in form now, and he was a very sweet man. So it’s the best of both worlds when you get to meet your idol and they’re actually amazingly nice. So that was great.

Ohhh my goodness, Craig's smile is seriously the cutest thing ever! STOP BEING SO CUTE DAMNIT! (I gotsa new avatar, I know original lol). Anyway, Matt seems like a pretty cool dude, I liked the way he described them as heroes and Australian rock gods. And he looks extremely happy in that picture. Also I agree, Craig and Ryan never age...I wonder how they stay so young.

craig seems quite lively in that photo . I'm really very happy for them. When I read similar things like that, seeing the band in addition to be doing a good job , and are happy with that , makes me happy.

Yeah sure, can't wait to listen to our music. I'll write the lyrics and you could do your...uh...tambourine lines. Rob is gonna love it, I just know. And if anything, we should name our band the Mud Pretzels. You could imagine how enthusiastic the guys are gonna be when they hear that the Mud Pretzels are throwing a gig! They'd totally come check us out. Or at least Craig would. And he'd definitely drag Ryan with him wherever he goes.

they police wikipedia edits ok- every time I post something on there I get an email asking me how reliable what I have written is. Someone should change it to what we know and see what happens.

Yeah, and it was mid 2007 at first. Which was later postponed to late 2007. And then early 2008. Then spring 2008. Now it's mid-2008. Am I the only one that sees a certain pattern here? I'm beginning to wonder if it's getting released at all. *impatient*
