Hello =)

Has anyone of you ever heard of the "Hultsfred" gig? It's a very big 3 days-long-gig here in Sweden where over 28 000 people participate. Great artists and bands such as Ozzy Osbourne, The Hives, Korn and Pet shop boys perform, but there are also smaller bands (even some amateur bands). I have never been to this gig, but my friends were this year (they worked there).
Anyway, I think this gig is perfect for The Vines. Loads of rockbands, A LOT of beer (lol) and great way to expand networks. I wish they could consider participating at this gig next summer, the only thing they need to do is to send a CD and have their songs checked. And hopefully they will be contacted and asked to come to the gig to perform

Does anyone know how I could "send" my idea or whatever we should call it ? Or should I even... "send"... it ?

Bah, I hope this doesn't sound like a commercial thing for Hultsfred I hate doing free commercial (with or without being aware of it) for other companies or what so ever (cept The Vines and Nirvana... and like one or two other bands)

hi...i'm new here. first of all i don' t think that the vines have no chance to play somewhere/someplace...i think that they can't/ don't want to...but do you know if there is something planned, i saw on german articles they had secret concerts in september 2006...but in australia (i'm from germany...damn)...so is there any "insider information"??? i read something from harrison, he said there is the possibility for a new album_this year...ouiuouiu...
so please answer, cause thats the reason for my registration...thanks lea

I dunno how to propose the idea but I got the feeling The Vines are more into their own gigs rather than playing festivals.


Yup, they had a couple of secret shows at the end of 2006, when they started playing again, but only in Australia.
And yup, they are making a new album, I'm not sure how far they are right now, but I believe they want to release it by October. No dates are official yet, though.

EDIT: But then again, we can't decide if they should come here or not. And I wouldn't mind going to for example London to see them. Bigger chances that they'll play there. And it'd be so worth it.

Even if they do come to continential Europe, I highly doubt they'll do more than a handful of dates ... You have to bear in mind that they aren't able to tour that much because of Craig's condition, and that even when they did tour loads they never had a massive European tour, just a few dates in Germany, France and a few other places. The best option to see them live would be going to the UK, I reckon.

Well I knew that.And I doubt that they will come to Sweden and play.Not many great band comes to Sweden.I really want to go to UK and see a lots of bands but it costs money.And that's money I don't have
