I have the Jolene video downloaded from that DVD. I love the beginning of the song when Jack is talking about "what is black pool lights? I heard the Beatles used to play at a place called Blackpool lights. I hope I am at the right place" It's somewhere along those lines. Everytime he says Blackpool Lights he sounds like a stoned beatnik poet.

I've only heard the songs in the Elephant album. I like'em. My friend says they're out of tune but I like'em. Meg White is so adorable and Jack White is soo cute.

I like them but haven't got this, and probably won't bother. I really don't like the way in which Jack reinterprets the songs live. He really ruined it when I saw them live this year.

I was thinking that I could get the DVD now I have a DVD player, but then realised that the 2004 gigs I went to were pretty bad, and thought that it may well be a further waste of money to the £60 I spent on the Alexandra Palace gigs. Having said that, I've heard that the Blackpool gig(s?) was/were better, so maybe it's worth a try.

I like The WS very much.
First of all I think it is a brilliant idea to make music with just 2 people in the band. That's not so often nowadays.
Of course one could say "Oh but their music's no good." That's not true. They have catchy songs, like Seven nation army. The refrain will be remembered cause it's simple but yet it tells everything.
Also there's their image.

It's everything, I think.
It's like saying The Strokes aren't good. I can make you to like them, I can though tell you why I like them.

i think it was just the simplicity and catchyness of the music. it was a "new" (not really) sound to everybody and it was fresh and good. its like food. its good when its fresh and good. good...

Blah! I hate it when people can't distinguish good music from lame music.

just because it's simple doesn't mean it's bad. sure, the stuff is really easy to play, but that doesn't matter. the point is it sounds really good. but i have to agree...the vines, the strokes and the hives are much better. but they're still good.

good music is in the ear of the beholder. everyone's entitled to their own opinions.

I love the White Stripes and i don`t find their music boring or smth at all.
i know some people who can`t stand White stripes and say same things about them as you but i don`t think you all are right:THEIR SONGS DON`T SOUND THE SAME!! and i really love Jack`s voice!

Jack White's voice is awesome-------it's sharp, clear, and direct. I'm not an expert, but I am very much educated in terms of vocal music to say this. You can ramble all you want about their music, but his voice is amazing and there's no arguing about that.

You come here, state your opinion, blaspheming along the way (to some fans here, it is), without any real stable reasoning behind your arguments, to people who'd rather not give a shit (sorry, but it's true). On top of that, you don't leave any room for a better understanding of what you hate so you can give your platform at least some stable ground for better reasoning.

Hmm, I find that The White Stripes are ok, but I think that the main reason why they actually got that far was because their songs get stuck in your head for weeks.
There's not much talent in their music if you compare them to Led Zeppelin or Pearl Jam.
But god I had 'Seven Nation Army' 's beat stuck in my head for like a month!

The White Stripes are fantastic. They bring a refreshing passion and purity to music, and while their influences are clear, are very much unlike a good deal of music out there. They clearly love music - indeed, they seem like they live music - and they refuse to corrupt it like many people.
