Jet and The Vines Want the Seal Hunt to End

Garage rock bands Jet and The Vines are famous for taking MTV by storm and making '70s rock cool again—no easy triumph. Since then, both bands have been working like crazy—touring, putting out albums, and securing sweet spots on the Spider-Man 3 soundtrack (go Jet!). But in peta2's opinion, the most impressive thing that these bands have done so far is join our campaign to put an end to the cruel slaughter of Canadian baby seals for fur.

Jet's Nick Cester, Mark Wilson, and Cam Muncey and The Vines' Brad Heald, Craig Nicholls, and Ryan Griffiths have joined thousands of other people in asking the Canadian government to put an end to the bloody slaughter. Although this year's hunt is over, we need to keep the pressure on to ensure that the hunt doesn't ever happen again!

Anyhow, that picture alone crushed my spirits, if I watched that video I would probably start crying...I can't believe people could do this Seriously. Usually the PETA people kinda scare me, but things like this make me glad that at least someone cares. There's no excuse to kill an animal so brutally and inhumanely....and just for it's FUR. Awful.

Nothing funny? I believe writing your own name as "Bra" is quite entertaining. Not to mention he probably wrote something obscene and ungodly in Arab instead of his last name.

I was wondering about the missing signatures. Maybe they said, "Look! No more room!"
But after seeing all that, I don't think twice about seeing Hamish in some seal cuffs or hats.

Guess Hamish would rather support PETA (People for the Eating of Tasty Animals)...

What do you mean, all the videos and stuff? The ones of naked people usually don't do it for me either ( ) but the ones inside factory farms and that are what got me interested in vegetarianism. I also have a book from the Farm Sanctuary...for a little bit of variety in source. I'm grateful for all their info and recipes and stuff, but not a heavy supporter. Controversy: The Virginian euthanisations; the pamphlets aimed at schoolchildren; the monetary support of the Earth Liberation Front, supposedly in the burnings too.


I think that Brad's 'signature' must only be "BH" because that could be described as merely a compact heaping of lines Even "Brad Heald" takes up more space than that.

It's really fucking gross, but it kind of does get the point across.

I've seen ones showing them being tortured, that's all...I've never even heard of the racoon one. <-- (To make us feel better)

Actually, if you look closely, you'll see that his signature resembles a butterfly pinned to a wall to a really uncanny level. I think he was trying to send a message out that someone made him sign this (I suspect Craig, he's da leader of da gang) and that in reality he actually enjoys torturing animals. But he can't write or use language at any level, so he tried to draw it. And failed miserably. It could also be that he didn't dare upset Craig because Craig is, well, pretty protective towards baby seals.

Thats one thing i don't like about this stuff...like i mean i am already convinced that clubing seals and killing other animals in odd ways is crule....thats why i'm on sites like that i mean people who don't care about that stuff wouldn't bother to go on those types of sites.

Besides, Hamish seems rather in favour of seal clubbing (as he didn't sign the petition) and I'm still sceptical of Brad's reasons to sign it. So in the worst case, Hamish and Brad (who have bonded in the couple of months so much they attend parties together ) will visit Canada on their own and rock the country with bass and drums alone. Guitarists and lead singers are so passé anyway.

That was the intention.
Meanwhile, Craig and Ryan can tour in Europe. As Hamish won't be there and the roadies will probably get stoned with some nice European drugs ( ) Craig and most importantly Ryan will have no protection so I'll be able to sneak in their tour bus and have my way with them.
It is a solid plan, I reckon. Let's just hope no one reads this and freaks out.
