i heard at work today that The Vines are coming to Philadelphia. Can anyone confirm this or is it just a rumor?

I read somewhere on the net that they were going to america, and it was recent to, it even had a pic of craig i hadnt seen before, a recent one.....but im not too sure, im gonna try find it

I think it's just a rumor. Sorry. But they're supposed to me working on album #4, so ... They've been promising to go to the US since, dunno, August, so they ARE going there at some point. Be patient, I guess. I know that's hard and that people all over the world are dying to see them, but they should be concentrating on the album and such.


I don't think they'll be recording in the US, they don't have a sugar daddy with a suitcase of cash behind them anymore. I guess they'll be recording in Sydney, but I could be wrong though.

Well, theyve been demo-ing in Australia, but where they will record the album is still up in the air. If they decide to use a producer that wont travel to Australia, (a lot of them won't) they'll have no choice. Also we dont know who's backing them financially yet label wise, so anything can happen I guess.

It wasn't Craig's condition that was the problem. They were supposed to go to America in October originally but the tour didn't come together. They were also pencilled in to support Muse in the UK in November but the costs were impractical. Andy Kelly told me in late August that the US tour was more likely to be late November or December, but then the venues didn't stack up and the radio shows didn't come in.

Just as side note they were also requested to play Glastonbury and 02 Wireless Festival in the UK this year, but the trip would have been to expensive. So I think we'll all be waiting until the new album now!!

^Not that I"m holding my breath. If an UK/Europe and American tour happen, it will happen when it happens. I think it's just a matter of when.

Its a real bummer...whilst I might not have gone to Glasto I'd have been at the O2's! And there would have been bound to be other gigs...never mind I'm sure it won't be too long now!!

I might just get on a plane and go to a different country to see them.. although that would take me longer than them coming to great old England.. so i'll wait.

But you're lucky to live in England, they'll definitely play there.
I, on the other hand, live on the good ol' continent (Europe), and have more chance to see them live if I ride a giant snail to Australia while collecting money for ... er, snail food by singing Play That Funky Music than if I sit here and wait for them to come and play anywhere near by.
And even if they by a miracle play a gig in Europe, I'll probably have an exam I can't miss on that day with my luck.

But, guys, I keep having dreams in which they're playing near me... I'm on the eastern seaboard...and, of course they'd play in New York City, wouldn't they?...but perhaps someplace else? (I don't mind driving to New York, no - that'd be really fun; but, my dreams suggested another place, though in real life I can't imagine where they'd play more...in the east U.S., I mean).

I wouldn't rely on dreams too much. I once dreamt of cyborg pirates killing me and as much as it seemed real back then, I seriously doubt it will ever come true.
Although I do hope at least some of my dreams about Ryan will come true one day.

But my dreams come true a lot...and dreams are really rarely bad.

You know, Ursa, when the day comes that you get to go to a Vines gig, I'm going to fly wherever you are flying and capture your flesh encounter with Ryan on film so that the whole planet can share in the biggest orgy of emotion evah. You will change the world.

Yes! Vienna would be so cool. And a Viney get-together of fans from all over the world would be the second best thing ever (right after me meeting Ryan, that is), although it's not likely to happen (but then again, that has never stopped me from dreaming). I wonder how Ryan will would feel worshipped as a deity. He'd probably be all shy and embarrassed, aww. And scared shitless, too, but I'd rather not go there.
As much as walking hand-in-hand sounds nice and tempting, I'm not good at that romantic crap. And I can think of a thing or two to do at night instead.
Aww, it almost sounded real until I got to that security/stable thing. I'd be a shitty security guard, though. The estate would be a perfect target for robbers, but on the other hand, the stables would be the most secure place on the continent, as I'd spend most of my time there.
