Although everyone pretty much knew this, it's finally been confirmed that The Vines are doing BDO. The third and final announcement was this morning...

I'm relieved, I was starting to think that they weren't going to be put on the bill!

This forum sent out an e-mail over a month ago (before announcement two even) saying The Vines were going to be on the bill, didn't anyone read it?

Nevertheless, can't wait to see them live. Dopetrain opening would be killer!

members of the vines told us they planned to play BDO, hoped to open for muse in the UK this past november, and also hoped to play some shows around the US in december (mostly christmas radio festivals). sadly for UK and US fans, the those shows didn't come off.

but on the upside, the extra time spent at home gave craig the oppotunity to work on the new songs, and it looks as if the band will be going into the studio to record even sooner than hoped next year. can't complain about that!


oh, and even tho there's a bdo thread in the news section, we're gonna leave this one open too since it works both places.

except once I saw a shirt (only stocked in XL mens size..typical) but it was a Youth Group and The Vines and some other band I cant remember tour shirt.

Considering I can get my hands on some money tho...I have 100 bux but I'm planning to buy a shins tshirt and a beatles bag which wont leave me with much.

annie, you're gonna be one of the first forumers to see them at BDO, so you're gonna need to tell US what merch is available. i'm sure they'll have some shirts and somesuch.

and seeing as you are the QUEEN of picture-taking and our official NZ vines ambassador, i expect lots of arty shots of the merch, the boys, and yourself.

YESSSSSS vines are on side stage and not main stage.
Side stage is way better and its much easier to get to the front and there is less bogans, woo!

nah, big day out is the first big-scale show they're playing in NZ, ever.
they're from NZ but theyre London based.
the only shows they've played in NZ have been unannounced small scale shows in bars around Finn Andrew's home, devonport, which are all r18(no exceptions) and devenport is like a 2 hour drive with the mother fucking holiday traffic.

Not sure about anyone else here, but I'm going to Gold Coast BDO and the Vines couldn't be playing a gayer stage or time. I will still go because they are awesme but the stage they are playing is really out of the way.

I think Showbiz, or Absolution are good albums to start with

I love the stage the vines are playing on in sydney (essential stage). Its the best!

They're playing the Essential Stage at the Gold Coast and every other city (except Melbourne when they're on the Green Stage). I like that stage too - it's smaller so there aren't as many people and I'm thinking we're all less likely to be crushed . Also, playing a small stage this year means that if The Vines want to play BDO next year to promote their next album - they'll be able too - if they'd played a major stage they wouldn't be able to play next years. I might be being a little too optimistic already hoping The Vines play next years BDO, oh well .

I think the timing is quite good too - it's in the late afternoon, just before all the big bands come on over on the main stages so I think the guys should get quite a good crowd . Eeep! Only 10 days till the Gold Coast show .
