Eeep! I know! I'm so excited! I'm gonna get there by 10am... I know the gates don't open till 11am... but you know. I'm paranoid like that and want barrier . Ooh and apparently it's gonna rain a bit tomorrow . At least The Vines are playing in the big top though so it'll be sheltered . Sucks if you want to see bands in the open areas though.

The Vines made a welcome return to the festival circuit, cherry-picking a setlist from their three albums.

Before going on stage, singer Craig Nicholls revealed to The Sunday Telegraph that he had written 15 new songs, and was planning to begin recording an album in February.

"It's been a good year for us," Nicholls said.

im so glad i got on the barrier though because the mosh pit looked pretty bad. well i didnt see, but i was getting crushed against the barrier so i assume it was bad and everyone was getting crowd surfed out... if wasnt on the barrier i would have had to get out too because im not very good in crowds...and i hate it when i have to spend more time concentrating on standing up then paying attention to the band...i would have been very pissed off.

argh I was three people away from the barrier! friggin' idiots crowd surfed over me, and I lost my glasses I was so pee'd off cause I had just bought them too! Oh wells, everything was fine up until that, they really sounded great! Can't wait till Big Day Out!!!

Ava, that was you? You should have said something! Haha, if you even recognised me that is .
But yeah - the guys were awesome . Easily the best performance of any of the other bands I saw on the day - not that I'm biased or anything . Everything else was an anti-climax after I saw The Vines - even Silverchair disappointed me.
The crowd was crazy - definitely the most crushed during The Vines set than any others at the Big Top .
I took my film camera to the show instead of my digital - I'm really regretting that. My photos didn't turn out very well at all - it's not even worth uploading them .

Oh and Channel V will air a couple of the songs the guys played - not the whole set though.

How was Daniel's voice? I've seen video from the recent Adelaide performance and it was just bad. Daniel's voice was all over the map. Not to mention he now looks like Justin Timberlake.

Anyway, glad The Vines performance went well. I hope we'll get a chance to see the video from the performance.
