here a couple of more homebake items...first, is a review from 'your gigs' online...

One of the most surprising additions to this year's line-up would have to be The Vines. A band who had previously been notorious for disappointing festival-goers, The Vines managed to battle technical problems, the ongoing downpour and the mass exodus of fans to see Hilltop Hoods, and delivered one of the festival's best sets. The rockier songs like Highly Evolved and Gross Out were the standouts - great, punchy festival tunes.and from today's 'sunday telegraph' is this bit about patrick still getting along with his former bandmates...
A Vine and dandy reunionBy Peter Holmes

VINES fans will be heartened to know that former bassist Patrick Matthews was messing about with his old bandmates backstage at Homebake last week.
Matthews quit the band last year following a disastrous gig at the Annandale Hotel, and later joined Youth Group, just as the latter's career began heading north, thanks to Forever Young. To outsiders, it appeared Matthews had bailed out after becoming fed up with the antics of Vines singer Craig Nicholls, who was later diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome.
At Homebake, Nicholls, drummer Hamish Rosser and guitarist Ryan Griffiths were conducting interviews while, just five metres away, Matthews and Youth Group singer Toby Martin were also speaking to the press.
After his interview, Matthews took the mickey out of his former comrades, indicating any frost between them has long since thawed. Nicholls told Insider he wasn't sure who would produce the next Vines album.
