I'm kind of bored, but I was browsing an article and I found up-to-date sales figures of HE and WD in the USA:
Highly Evolved 671,000
Winning Days 168,000
http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,15385,00.html?tnewsIt also says the band will remain on Capitol Records.
Not really news or anything but I WAS kind of wondering what WD's sales were. :-/

uhh, i think you mean 185,000, cause it would be really sad if the band cant even sell more than 20,000. but anyways, what makes you say that shirlebee (and E-online) is wrong?

The numbers she posted were just in the US, not worldwide.

im suprised that winning days was so poor selling, and that they are staying on capitol. i think they should go off on their own indie label relese from there.

They should form their own label to release their albums. Many artists have done that and I am sure that they have enough money to do so.

Wow,
It amazes me to think that,
If The Vines had created something which sold as many copies as Highly Evolved, They would have been flamed for producing a boring "copy"of Highly Evolved.
Were as the direction they did take was a little different and the album was a "flop"
There really is no pleasing evberybody is there? : P
I seriously cant wait for the third album.

Does 15,000 albums really matter? Maybe if it had caused them to go platinum or gold but i mean, they weren't even breaking 200,000 with the extra 15.. That said, I bought it but I think the major causes of failure were, I bought it at Cat's/Pop Tunes for like $19. Walmart was cheaper but you lose a whole song. I wish it had done better, but I enjoyed it, and they are staying together so we all win. The band just isn't going to be Donald Trump for a while.

i read somewhere that they think that was cause of his behaviour that it turned fans off and that live performances and shit werent good.
sunchild.
Dec 24 2004, 09:48 PM
well i think a lot of vines fans were kinda disappointed with winning days because of the lack of new songs on it. for people that were late on the action and only got into the vines like in february or march all the songs were new. but if you had all the singles and stuff, songs like sunchild were b-sides so it was the same old stuff, which i don't think helped a whole lot.

well thats not good, i know a lot of people who like the vines... ithink the thing is...is that we all dont have money to spend and are really bummed about not buying their cds....thats why the world is sad!! NO VINES IN THEIR STEREOS!!!

Vines CD's are really cheap, so if anybody actually wanted to help them out, they would go out and buy the $12 CD.
I have Highly Evolved and Winning days, The Winning days they sold at Walmart was edited so I took my business else where and bought it at Fred Meyers. Was FTW the song that wasn't on the Walmart version?
I am also Pissed because I can't find any Vines posters or T-shirts or anything any where. I looked at Hot Topic, Spencer's and The Stash. I couldn't find anything. I guess the West Coast doesn't have as much Vines stuff.

There isn't much Vines merchandise here either. I found the last Vines t-shirt at Hot Topic. The only other thing I could find in a store was that black and white poster.
