The thing that amazes me about Pollock is his technique for when he would action paint. And it looks so simple, yet no one has been able to replicate his art work. I've yet to see the film Pollock, but it got really good reviews.

The film is great, I have had a love affair with Pollocks work since I was 5. My dad is a painter, and everyday after he left for work and i got home from pre school before him I would sneak in his room and go into his bookshelf and take his art books. I could read to some extent, but I was not up to reading Allen Ginsberg and all the other beat poets my dad is obsessed with, so I stole his art books, looked at the pictures, and put them back. One day, I took a book of Pollock's work and it was so astounding and revolutionary, that I stole the book and would and still do look at it every day, and he still dosen't know I have it

Dali is just in general one of my favourite people. He is "CRAY-ZZEEE." I'd love to make a film based on his autobiography The Secret Life of Salvador Dali...I'm not sure if it's been done before though.

my dad is deaf, has a short temper, insane, and walks around in bandolaros, which are oddly fitting boxer briefs. His art is good though, he has been in a few art shows. But he is still a cool guy.

Evard Munch's style is so distinct and original. I love it when you can see a work of art and right away know who created it.

I'm going to try to keep this thread alive.

For the past week I've grown somewhat depressed trying to adjust to reality and seperating what I want from what actually is.

Through a child-like (some may see it as more childish) perspective, I would argue that a magic realistic world would be ideal.

Chris Miles is one of my favourite magic realist painters. I thought I'd share some of his wonderful pieces.

My faverite Artist is colin lancley, he worked within a breifly lived Sydney based Art movement in the 60s called immitaional realism, i can only find 2 other artists in this movement, and they were his friends.

here is a sort of self portrait... I did it quite quickly as I was fed up and tired, and did not want to reread my lessons right before my exams, the following morning... Yeah drawings always a good excuse for me not to do my homework or lessons...

^That is awesome. I love the colors and how you blended the figures in the background. I also like the detail of the black thing, some look like hands to me; I don't know if you meant to do that but I personally love it.

Thank you! I'm glad you were able to make out the reaching hands in the background. Supposed to represent darkness overwhelming light, happiness, freedom etc.
