hey, y'all! ali and i are in the airport waiting on our shuttle to our melbourne hotel, but we wanted to check in and let you all know about last night's show.

to put it simply...BEST SHOW EVER!!!

seriously, they were on fire last night. highlights were...

1. ryan and craig dancing together - ryan-jig style from splendour

2. craig banging on brad's bass repeatedly - and in photos it looks like a little something else is going on (wait til you slashers see the pictures - it will inspire many a story!!)

3. craig's guitar going out of tune during 'spaceship' causing him to spend the rest of the show laughing and apologizing for it - he said, 'if i promise to play 'spaceship' better next time, will you see us in sydney in a bigger venue?'

4. the crowd at the front was WILD!! lots of pogo-ing and crowd-surfing. the band loved it!! joey's lip...not so much. she got a bloodied lip from a over-zealous crowd-surfer and actually bled - upside to that? hamish came over and gave her his drumsticks. both of them.

5. apparently people in the back were a little more still and craig kept getting on to them about that. right before 'ms. jackson' he said something like, 'since you aren't moving i'm gonna have to come back there and get you' - and then he crowd-surfed a little ways out into the crowd before returing to the stage to forward roll back on. we got video footage, peeps!!

6. during 'spaceship' craig took a little smoke break sitting on hamish's drum riser with his legs crossed and a coke in one hand while the rest of the band played - again, we got video footage.

7. all you brad fans listen up!! male fans started shouting brads name over and over during a song break, and brad blushed and smiled and wouldn't really look up cos he was humbled and embarrassed. not so craig...he piped up and said, 'hey hey hey lead singer standing right here.' like get the attention back on him. it was such a hilarious moment.

8. craig busting his black boy moves again during 'ms. jackson' which is one of the show stand-outs every night. '1969', 'spaceship' and 'fuk yeh' and the other two really big crowd pleasers.

9. the audience singing 'get free' like we were all taking a shower together or something - it was that loud and off-key - to get the band to come back out for their encore.

10. craig smiled and chatted throughout the show between nearly every song - no 'thank you very mooches' but lots of off-the-cuff humorous things. you could tell all of them were having a blast playing. it was hamish's girlfriend's birthday, so she got a shout-out, as did our very own megan/somethingfunny. most of the guy's families were there by the side of the stage and it was cool to see them all getting into their son/brotbers' show. also, we saw wayne connolly there tuesday and friday night.

they have gotten better and better with each performance - that probably comes from building their confidence and the terrific swell of fan support.

we can't wait to share our pictures and video footage with you guys - we've tried to capture as much as possible so those of you who weren't there can get a taste of how amazing it's been.

edit: oops, forgot merch! they're only selling two t-shirts - one white and one black with the vines logo (vine leaf and band name) huge on the front and back. the black one comes with all the tour dates and sells for $35AU. there is also the most gorgeous poster that mathematics designed that advertises the shows and is $20. we all bought that and got it signed - it's really quality looking art too.

There's way to many things in there to quote! Too many kick ass things!!

I'm disappointed you guys snobbed me off. Glad you had a good time though. It was a good show and seeing Craig so cheery was nice.

It was sooooooooo amazing During the first song I smilied at Craig and he gave me a winking smilie nod thing haha he is so adorable! And when he crowds surfed i wwas holding like his ankles and AND!!! Touched his bare back with my right hand......after the show Allie touched my hand hahaha! Yeah I came, I saw, I touched and I got to meet the girls I loved when Craig said "...Brad isn't allowed to talk to the crowd" "and I'd like to thankyou for coming...even the people up the back" He was haveing such fun......and his dancing so cute They sound just amazing!!

That night was brilliant. I was pegged up against Allie tying not to crush her! The crowd was insane. It turned out just being easier jumping along with them. So Allie, again, sorry about that!

I think the highlight of the night for me was being given Craigs cigarette and smoking it! Dirty habit I know, but at that moment I was happy to be a smoker!

I got kicked in the head by a crowd surfer. I thought I was going to be knocked out!

All in all, it was their best performance ever. I cant wait for the girls to post more pics. I unfortunately dont have a camera but Im sure Jen, Allie, Joey and Maddie got it all!

Yes this was my favorite show! I will get my pics and videos up soon, just am very busy and stressed at the moment

From what I've heard from everyone this show sounds really incredible. I really wish I could have been there.

Awwwww this was my favorite. Craig said thursday was his favorite cause he's really upset that he thinks he messed up spaceship when his guitar went out of tune during this show. All the guys had different opinions, it was funny.

Last night was cool though

i have clips and pics from all the shows that i'm probably gonna put in one thread cos it's so many to sort. this show and tuesday's were my favorites tho - tuesday, because it was the first and they just looked so happy and sounded so good, and this one because it all seemed to fall into place by friday's show - well, everything but craig's out of tune guitar in 'spaceship,' i guess.

Yeah, performance-wise, Friday was the best I think, apart from the apparent out-of-tune guitar during "Spaceship" which I didn't even notice. But I also think the crowd were more into it which the boys fed off and vice versa. It was amazing.
