Yeah, I dunno if it's been posted, but it was at NME.com..

You can find it here:

http://www.nme.com/news/110590.htm

It's really odd for me especailly, 'cause I've been checked for the same disorder when I was eight :S Well anyway, just wanted to share.

Sorry if I overlooked anything and it's been posted :$
Tinkerbell

Well, actually I never HAD it. They just THOUGHT I did, so I've been checked for it. Now my mother tells me I just have a mental disorder that's not yet discovered.  dry.gif  Yes, great fun parents can be.

But still, I don't think we should, like, start worrying our asses off. It's nothing really serious and - to be honest - I think it was to be expected.  rolleyes.gif

yes actually I kind of expected it but i hope it's nothing serious sad.gif

right, I'm never letting the forum out of my eyes again. Last week I come back and find that Darbie tried to steal Mo away from me. Did I learn my leason? No. This week I come back and the whole fucking forum is gone mad.gif

So here I am. 'tis a sad day indeed.

*hugs Craighead back*

thanks I needed that
maryjane_33
I dont get this whole thing about how people with this disorder prefer softer clothes, well so do I, but Im not like that mental or anything
little_washu712
I'm just glad they found out what was wrong with Craig after all this time and can finally get all the help he needs.
iwishiwaseurotrash
That is so weird. I almost feel like...huh. Isn't that strange.
king koopa

sooooooo...no new album then?
Tinkerbell
Well, he's always had it, and he made 2 records with it, so why would there be no 3rd just because of that? It's not like suddenly he's completely different and unable to function. He's the same as he ever was.
little_washu712
i read they are making a new album. they will just be touring less

little_washu712
yes that seems to happen alot and then something serious occurs and now all the aussie papers that said he was insane after the anandale are eating their words.
little_washu712
heres some info on AS http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv2/b...s_syndrome?open
apocalyptic bastard
they better do...i know it's hypocritical (sp?!?) but they really passed the limit with him.....i've seen him just once and yea he was making strange faces and stuff but he really had nothing to do with all the shit they wrote....he's a simple and friendly guy, well...this what i think
Maxwell Demon
My mom had a student with asperger's syndrome

I met him. he was a nice kid.

He's in a mental hospital now though cause it made him go nuts.

so...yeah hopefully that won't happen to Craig.

when I mentioned this to her she said "Oh God.. and frowned"
so that didn't make me feel much better.
little_washu712
me too. he is mis understood by the mainstream media like so many great artists. dali, van gogh(sp), this crazy geometry dude my teacher mentioned who was a genius and was keep getting put in asylums..

exactly. it can't even be diagnosed as a 'real' disorder or disease. its like chronic fatigue syndrome in that sense. it can't be treated or cured really.

Articles:
MTV
Rolling Stone
Drowned In Sound
Billboard
Daily Telegraph

And I bet the guy who wrote this feels like a bit of a dick.
little_washu712
that's why craig said he cant drive. in the mtv article it says AS suffers have poor motor skills
bretto
By 'motor skills' I'm pretty sure they are talking about muscle movement. wink.gif
little_washu712
what? is this a sex reference?

I read that link and a few others

the thing about the syndrome is its different for different people
really with any disorder

compared to the kid I know who has it Craig doesn't seem to have it as severe....but then again I've never met Craig

and it is a real disorder its just a pretty newly discovered one that they can't quite explain too well or treat as well as disorders that have been well known for a while.

Craig has gone 2 years without him or his peers understanding what was wrong with him and without proper treatment and hasn't gone absolutely nuts.....so now that they know what he has and he can go the right way about getting treatment for it I don't know why this should really be upsetting. More than likely he'll be better off now. They might not tour as much yeah, but theres nothing wrong with that. They'll still come around probably.

yea i think so too. When i saw him (just saw...i did not dare to go closer, yea i'm an idiot i know) he did seem to be quiet and hyper in the same time...dunno how to explain...even though he was really silent, he didn't say much

For starters it's not a disease. It's a syndrome.
And to be eccentric is to display un-conventional human behaviour, which admittedly Craig does... because he has Aspergers Syndrome.

Your medical friend is not a Vet is she?

I agree totally. I mean before he was just a weird rock star and now his mentally disabled?
I think the people in the medical community just really like to label things. This illness is only like 2 years old. And now every journalist will be repeating this story everytime the vines do anything.
At least there is good news that they will be touring less and the record company won't be able to put so much pressure on the band.
catholicWHORE
I'm glad he knows what it is he has and hopefully this will all be for the better. Now maybe the reporters will stop making fun of his weird actions and there will be a reason to slow down on the touring.
little_washu712
actually its is 10 years old.
little_washu712
yes they will be able to tour less and have less interviews to conduct.

haha, i saw this and it just made my day smile.gif
