Yeah i should have justed risked the age thing i guess, but the rescue rooms can be really strict at times and thats what i was worried about. Ahhh well i'm seeing the Datsuns next week which should rock out, they're my number 2 behind the Vines.

Any other Datsun lovers?

I used to like them quite a lot, but not anymore.

Loved the first album..saw them at the Boat Club in Nottingham 2002 on the Radio One live week. They were great. Phil Datsun was at the after show at the Forum talking to Craig and Andy Kelly. Phil and Christian were also at the after show after Brixton in 2004.

Yeah yeah i reckon Dolf Datsun is one of the coolist guys ever, i'm catching them next week at the Charlotte which is quite a small venue so i may go up for a chat. They've relocated to Britain actually, which is cool. They were from the same scene as The Vines, back in the day when rock and roll would fill the pages of NME instead of all this indie.

Is Christian still with his English girlfriend?

i don't know, i'll ask him if you want

Just curious I met them at the Buffalo bar in London in 2003 - he was virtually living here back then.

i guess that was one of the things that prompted the band to move over here. They have a new album out soon i think, i presume thats why they're touring. But they didn't do many festivals, i just hope they return to form. Similarly to The Vines, The Datsuns second album was slated and they apparently were blamed for destroying garage rock and all kind of unfair accusations. Many journalists didn't like the Datsuns because they tried to create a Datsuns Vs. Darkness rivalry which the Darkness fell for, but the Datsuns didn't. Ofcourse journalists prefer a good rock and roll fall out which the Datsuns didn't give them.

I know what you mean, NME were desperate for Craig to be the new rock god who died at 27! Bastards!

Yeah if bands don't comply to the story the NME wants to write they throw them aside. But it sounds good news that the NME may be sending a photographer with The Vines on tour, so a feature could appear in the paper some time soon. Well i heard they were doing that on the 'Vines in NME' thread on this forum- not sure how much truth is in it.
