As long as you look of age Rescue Rooms ain't that bad...admitted you can't get back on the day but there are quite a few cheap hotels around Nottingham, theres a Travel Lodge on Maid Marion Way thats cheap. I'll leave it with you to contemplate.

My friends coming to Nottingham with me but she's not really a fan just curious. London on the other hand I'm travelling alone but meeting Leonie (the girl in the Face article) and Chen (my journo friend) when I get there. As well as anyone on this board as well so I'm not really alone there either! But yeah I often go on my own. Vision Valley is a very appropriate song for me!

some (most) of the shows they are doing now are 18 and older becuase of the venues and such

yup...but the show at the forum in london allows peeps 16-18 to go with an adult.

i dont think they will.. i dont really see them coming over here to the US/Canada til next year sometime .. plus, they might not even put it as 18 or older either... we'll just have to see.

it depends on the venue and how tight they are about alcohol. in most venues in the states, they card you and if you're underage, you get a big fat "X" on your wrist and that's a 'no' to alcohol. apparently, they're tighter in other countries and don't wanna take the risk of minors getting liquored up.

that's why the fake ID can be your friend.

I hope that they have the guys play at the Quest when they come. Theyre not to tight about age. I remember at the Audioslave concert, you had everyone there and the older people were all wasted it was awesome. plus its easier to find the band afterwards too

the quest is where tinks and i saw them! the thing i remember about it though was the show started at like 7 and was over before 10 because you guys have bizarre curfew laws! the vines wanted to play longer, and craig even made some remark about how they had to wrap things up because of the time. they should've made jet play a shorter set.

im just curious(Im not really a jet fan, I find them really overrated) why do so many people hate jet on here. is their some back story that I totally missed?

Been wondering the same thing. The only thing that comes to mind is that jet has a larger picture than the vines (in newspaper) which I also find insulting.

I know ah man.. i so could have been at that show too

i don't care for jet because there's nothing original or remotely inspiring about them. what they do, they do okay...and that's it. they make for good whipping boys because of their association with the vines - sharing the same mgmt/home country - and so it's easy to want to turn it into a us (vines and vines fans) vs. them (jet and jet fans) thing.

chris cester (jet's drummer) did make some derogatory comments about the vines in the past, but after doing the aussie invasion thing, he's been a good boy and watched his mouth. in fact, jet has said some really nice things about craig and the band since then, so i have to credit them for that.

the vines even attended jet's show in london last nite.

but i still wanna hate on 'em.

Jets ok.. i like maybe 2 or 3 of theirs songs.. but theyre not a band who id pay to see

same , like over here in canada their really only known for two songs and then FLOOOFF they vanished. people are starting to reconize the vines again because the fox(vancouvers rock station) has picked up and began playing Don't Lisiten To The Radio!

Plus I just find jets music so dam uninspiring!

I cant speak for other people, but much like you, i think they are highly overrated. Plus they're from Australia like the Vines, yet they're getting more attention for their poseur music? thats a big no no!
And plus i am biased.

And on a personal note, they were very rude to fans when i was at the aussie invasion back in April-04. An air of arrogance and ignoring fans to the point where one guy practically had to throw himself in front of them, just to get one to shake his hand. I'm not sure what guy that one was, but he was slightly nicer then the other ones who did their best to pretend we didnt exist. Not that i was a fan of course, but i felt sorry for the ones that were.

I remember when they came through vancouver about a year ago and their was a big story in the paper (an indie collage newspaper) about how they were absolutetly rude to people at the show and media people and all that.

I've known Jet ages and normally they are lovely, well all except Mark who for some reason doesn't like me! Chris is hysterical, a real nice guy, Nic always remembers me and Cam has been friendly since day one (thats 2003 btw). I suppose now they are getting bigger they just have to be a bit more careful.

That was over 2 years ago. They wernt all that big then. I had never even heard of them. They only had one album out. No excuse for them to behave that way. "The Living End" didnt behave that way when they came out of the building. They were very nice.
I remember after Jet came out and i saw how rude they were, i said to this one guy there, I sure hope the Vines are friendlier then they were. ........and were they ever.

I approached them on the Aussie Invasion tour to sign my CD and they were all very sweet. They even seemed disappointed when I walked away because I really had nothing to say to them. I don't even know why I asked them to sign it. I am even more bewildered why I bought their CD at all. Curious I guess. The only one who seemed a little full of himself was the drummer (only God knows why).

The Vines are good friends with Jet so it's all good.
