Technically speaking, I've been there twice, as I passed through the Islands on my way to and from Iceland (on the Norrona ferry), and the whole voyage was just awe-inspiring, to say the least

But OMG, in Tórshavn we were trying to find their House of Parliament...
...and we couldn't, no matter how hard we tried
We were running in circles all around the town, frustrated and getting more and more tired
It was all the more irksome as the guide book distinctly specified the place where the House should be, but apparently there was nothing there that would remotely resemble such a grand institution
Finally we decided to ask one of the local people for directions
It was an elderly gentleman that we approached, and we duly asked where the Parliament House was
He looked at us very strangely and said, You're standing in front of it
Our jaws just dropped to the floor. The Parliament House turned out to be a sweet little cottage–like thing, its roof covered with grass, and we must have passed it at least 4 times during our peregrinations
Talk about embarrassing!

When you go to Tórshavn, check it out, it's just the cutest thing ever!
