News from Vines manager, Andy Kelly:

"The best news I have is that the band are ready to dip their toes in the performance water again, and we will be announcing some shows soon. I'll let you know in the next couple of days when and where before the official announcement."

So more than likely shows will happen before November. I hope he actually meant we'll know in two days rather than more.

the where and when are all speculation until andy gives official word, but you aussies will definitely be lucky enough to see them.

God I hope they come to the U.S. I'll never be able to make it to Australia so if they don't come within a couple hundred miles of me, I'm totally screwed forever.

That's great about the sydney show! It would make me one of the happiest people in the WORLD to see them live at least once.

well long story short one of the things on the menu was freash BBQ kangaroo, and well lol I refused to eat it and boicaughted my parents for the rest of the trip

A question though...

We're going to be getting news about more live shows coming up, so I was wondering...does all this equal a tour (with obvious restrictions for Craig and all that)? Or don't we know that yet? I'm probably getting ahead of myself here, but I'm just beyond psyched.

no, because touring implies long stretches on the road over a longer period of time. they're talking about playing some key cities in australia and perhaps abroad. like they may do a few in oz, take a break, and then do a few in major cities in the u.s. and europe - but craig hates flying so personally i'm real iffy on the international shows and how extensive they might be.

we won't know until vines mgmt says for sure. *waits*

btw, there are rumors that they may play splendour this weekend...unbilled. hmm...

I know I won't be able to go because that concert sold out months ago.... but Splendour is recorded on Channel V... so we'd have more footage if they played and it'd be great publicity... I really hope they play! But I kinda doubt that they will for some reason. Ooh! I hope they do though!

supposedly there's some surprise guest billed as '???' and because the vines played the show last nite, people are assuming that could have been a warm-up for a short set at splendour. if they're half as good as you guys say they were last nite...i say go for it!! the exposure and some positive press can only do them good. hell, people would be cheering them on simply for returning after so much drama.
