Well, since everyone is complaining about how much NME sucks with their hero list, we should make our own. How it goes down is everyone nominates their top 3 heros and then on June 1st I will take the top 20 nominees and put them in a poll, and you will vote for them and we will get our top 20 hero list
My three top Rock Heros
Craig Nicholls
Patti Smith
Bob Dylan

i look up to myself. not only am i open minded and kind hearted, but i am very smart (a genius) and will usually make the right decisions (i am human though and make small (very small) mistakes. sometimes). if any of you need a mentor, as the giving person i am, i volunteer. i only hope that some day a person will come around who can show me an even better way (if that is possible) of living.

Not all of the people on this list will make it onto the polls. I am only taking the top 20, so everyone with multiple votes and I will use my best judgment to pick the ones that only got 1 vote to fill out the list.
NOTE FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T VOTED: I doubt we are going to get more then 20 people with multiple votes, so you shouldnt vote for them because they already made it to the polls. Vote for people with one or no votes.

1. 'Genuises', and they're not possessing anything in that sentence.
2. Craig Nicholls is not a musical genius. To suggest he's comparable to Patti Smith is absurd.

The meaning of the word 'genius' as the generel used term is rather vague, though.

Maybe I didn't say it right.
I looked it up some time ago and read it can also just mean: a creator of something of high value to someone else, that he himself could not create. (Vaguely something like that.)

May 23 2006, 04:30 PM
I suppose it is a bit hard to define...but basically Patti Smith is an example of a genius, and Craig Nicholls is not. No one else could do what Patti Smith does; lots of people could do what Craig Nicholls does.

2 _ John Lennon
