What's the true story on dave oliffe. Why did he leave, where is he today, what's he up to? There was never any information on him.

Their first drummer before hamboner.
e left cuz he was too 'cool' for The Vines

there were a lot of stories circulating after he first left. olliffe claims he was sacked from the band, and he was pretty bitter about it (he gave the NME an earful!), while the other band members and vines mgmt claimed he was unwell, left the band in l.a. of his own accord during the recording of HE to get better, and so that's why he was out of the band.
as it turns out, both sides were telling their version of the truth. olliffe wasn't doing too well mentally, so it was a good thing he went back home to focus on his own wellness, while the vines and mgmt realized olliffe probably wasn't going to hold up over the long-term, so they went ahead and found a replacement in hamish.
his brother, michael, used to post to .net and at last mention, he said dave still plays music with friends and he and patrick have since reconciled their differences.

I've read somewhere that Dave is a diagnosed manic depressive and he suffered a nervous breakdown during the recording of Highly Evolved in L.A.
Apparently he got terribly homesick and went back to Australia not being able to handle the stress

okay well, im a guy so im not gonna post on their attractiveness...but, ryan kind of has a mullet goin on in the channel v performance. im not so sure how i feel about that. its a little too long in the back.
