The new Vines video Anysound, directed by Olivier “Twist” Gondry, will hopefully be televised sometime this week (air date still TBD). Gondry also directed The Vines videos, Ride and Winning Days.
Craig, Ryan and Hamish are animated in this video as plastic dolls and filmed using a stop motion (frame by frame) technique. They are performing the Anysound track in a venue similar to the Ride video. The band sent Gondry some raw video footage of themselves as a guide to help create the miniature Vines puppets playing miniature Vines instruments. We’ve heard the video is brilliant. The movements of the Craig puppet are uncannily real and pretty spot on.
Dreamin the Insane will be streaming the new Anysound video very soon so keep checking the DTI forum for updates!
