Outtathaway is missing from the $2 Bill mp3 so could someone post that and The Hives vs The Vines at the 2002 VMAs mp3? ANd what's the order of the Rock and roll hall of fame set list? And isnt In the Jungle missing from the Rock and roll hall of fame mp3s?

i don't have the setlist for that, but mtv only aired 6 of the songs from their set that night because the show was half the vines and half ( ) jet. i do have videos for those six songs, except the one for 'she's got something to say to me' is really effed up.

There's a random Canadian channel that airs the $2 Bill concerts at some odd hour on Friday nights, but they only played three of the songs when they aired the Vines' concert. Now I'm finding out that they cheated me of three songs?

That's a good idea. I have smatterings of songs from some shows, but I don't really have a huge number of bootlegs, which has always seemed like a small-scale tragedy to me.


I'm only missing 'She to Me', if you don't mind uploading it.

I'm sure MTV has the entire show stashed away in a store room somewhere where it goes unwatched and unloved.

EDIT: By the way, I've been wondering this for ages now - does anyone know if the demo of 'Give Up' recorded prior to this concert or not? I'm curious because it lacks the outro that's in the Metro recording.

I don't believe we're allowed to, as it was released on both the 'Ride' single and the DLTTR one.

^ Yep she's right. Music by The Vines that has been released either on an album or single can't be posted here. The singles are really cheap though, check out amazon or ebay .

'Give Up' is definitely, definitely worth the money.

i'll be glad to. it's crap quality but it's also all we've got of that particular one.




unfortunately, if there is a demo we haven't heard it. the first time a lot of us heard the song was from the sydney gig, and it got tagged with the name 'softspoken.' nobody knew anymore about it until it came out on the 'ride' single, and we heard a 'proper' recording with its craig-baptized name.

Yeah, I was referring to the 'Ride' single recording of it. I was sort of hoping a full studio recording might surface on VV even though I knew it wasn't going to happen. It's such a lovely, lovely song and it's a shame that it just seems to have faded into obscurity.

ah, i see what you're saying. apparently they changed 'giveX3' a bit from early live recordings when wayne helped them with it in the studio, but i guess they're happy enough with the 'ride' single version that they won't be re-doing it. it's wayne's work with that song that made fans want the band to work with him instead of schnapf for the third album.

they never have played it live much, which is a shame since it's such a beautiful song and a real fan favorite.

so now are they going to be putting "Give ...' on any of their new singles?
