Hail To The Thief is shit, it relies so heavly on Electronic elements, proving they lost it musically, anyone can learn to use a keyboard, synthizier and drum machine not anyone can play guitar or drums or any real instrument for that matter

Every single band that everyone has listed I LOVE. I love everything. I cannot think of a band that I hate. Music is so amazing I cant distinguish a liking for one more than the other. I dunno, I just love it all.

I can agree with some of those...*cough* Sum41 = Canadian
but Green day and Offspring...I can see where you are coming from that a lot of idiots who just want to pick a good rock band will cling to them and not really like them for thier music but they still make quality music, it doesn't matter what other people like them.

One of the problems with this overrated bands shit is that a lot of people, not everyone, bases a lot of their decision on things that don't neccesarily have to do wiht the music, that have to do with what stations play them, and what people like them, and from there you assume they are overrated just because of things outside of thier control as individuals. If you are going to say a band is overrated it should be soley based upon their musical abilities, a lot of people that cling to Green Day don't cling to the music, they aren't hyping the music they are hyping the image so therefore their music is not necessarily overrated.

BUT musical wise...I would agree with you on good charolette, sum41, and blink 182 because they just don't have the music to back up all the image hype they thrive on, its okay to get sucked into the image world because it isn't your fault as a band, as long as you have the talent in music to back you up.

I could go on forever about overrated bands but I'll just name a few. I like the Killers and have their CD but I think they are completely overrated. I understand the success with "Somebody Told Me" but all the other songs are fairly weak. Dashboard Confessional is also majorly overrated. And finally, My Chemical Romance is overrated as well, with their horrible lyrics simple guitar riffs and the lead singers wannabe iggy pop stage banter.

I think I'm a bit biased. I've always had the beatles with me. Birthday was playing when I was born, Julia is my god mutti's fav (her name is Julia). One of the only rock bands my dad likes is the beatles. And it's one of my mom's favourite bands, so I hear it quite a lot.
