Vines got creative style and good music but, so far thats all i know.

I seen REM live,(damn bloody amazing) and thats about it, Vines are great, and maybe theyve just come to NZ i wouldnt know. Or are they coming anytime soon?

Okay...um. They're not doing any traditional touring as of yet but many hold out hope that they may do some limited shows in the near future.

If it's any consolation in recent interviews they do seem eager to try and do some shows, but if it's going to effect Craig or the band in a negative way I'd much prefer they do what's best for them.

As for the music genre...I've long believed that genres are blurred and often irrelevant anyway, but surely you can come to your own conclusions as to what The Vines could be classified as

umm i tend to buy stuff on the internets, but yeah there isnt alot of merchandise around down here, you can like buy the albums in real groovy but thats about it sadly.

I see vines have rallyed quite alot of strong fans on this forum. I have never been a fan of anything really. :|

I dunno if you have a shop called Bands and Brands in Dunedin, but they sell ONE vines shirt, which is actually from some kind of tour and has like the vines plus youth group plus another band on it. Unfortunately they only make them in Mens size large =[

I managed to get Fuck the world on vinyl from Real Groovy for 5 bucks (they only had one which was weird, it was pretty ancient too), and a Vines poster from ECM, and a Vines badge from the markets but so far thats all the merch I've got.

yeah he has Aspergers, which is very mild autism. I just asked him about the tour, he still doesn't know but they've been talking with Andy... we should expect some shows for sydney in late april though. I really hope they'd try to tour the UK at least (and for all you people in NZ of course), because the new album is so good and i'm sure fans around the world are dying to see them live again after a long break... but its all up to him i guess.

the band - especially craig - seem full-on to do some live shows, only andy said in an interview that they need to be 'brilliant' when they return to the stage. talk about pressure! okay, i know what andy was getting at, but mgmt/the record label need to realize fans just want to see them play live...period. we have confidence in craig that if he wants to play live, he will give it his all - and it will equal brilliance.

nah i'm not a journalist, but yes we talk. He just can't cope with the pressure of flying everywhere etc. he hates it. Just today i said to him well people are going to fly into Sydney just to see The Vines and he joked "i think they should". Anyway only time will tell.

Well we all love flying overseas to visit friends or whatever, but touring is totally exhausting and it goes on and on and he's not really fit for it, his condition makes it hard for him to cope with changing surroundings.

oh i don't intend to stay here, i know Craig but i'm not Craig, so just because you don't expect Craig to be bored enough to come on here, doesn't mean the same thing applies to me, we have entirely different lives of course. I was only browsing here for the first time in a long time and thought i'll see what their fans are saying about the whole tour issue. I mean, anybody who's a fan of The Vines, and knows enough, I'm -sure- could probably state that they know Craig, and make the assumptions about his flight plans, blah, blah. That sort of thing.

But, no... I don't really believe you, and I don't think anybody should either. It's nice that they'd give you the benefit of the doubt for a little while though.

Also... if you just wanted to see what their fans were saying about their touring status, you wouldn't even have to make an account to gather that information.

Yeah, but, anybody who knows what Asperger's is, and the way Craig is, can draw the assumption that he doesn't like to fly and tour, because it's a 'changing in his surroundings'. However, at the same time, wouldn't flying to see your friends also be a change in surroundings? Of course, not one so intense, but. You know.

Also, anybody who knows -enough- about The Vines, could easily make lies that seem like the truth. But, if you were smart, I wouldn't believe it.
