Edit - Whoops, maybe not ^^

I don't think Craig's green one is a model or brand of any sort, I think I've heard him say it's all custom made, though I could be wrong.

or do you have it all written down somewhere? cool.gif
Maxwell Demon
its a list from Guitar magazine

the green one is a Tom Anderson Cobra custom

its shit though
it would sound alot better without the customizations

its too bright sounding I think
the mids are really weak and it just sounds hollow

Better then Ryan's SG. That has a horrible sound clean.

WOW!!! how many guitars and amps!!! is that normal? (im not really a pro guitarist, so i dont know how this things goes)

for now, i only have one guitar and one amp, and i dont think i ever gonna need more then 2-3 guitars and 1-2 amps...

why dosent he have any pedals? (exept that fuzz one) how does he gets all this different effects then?
Jammeh
He doesn't own all that gear, the list up there was what was used for the recording of Winning Days. The majority of that will have been rented/borrowed. Most of the effects will have been added later on a computer using ProTools.

I read in some interview that he only owns one electric guitar at the moment, I'm guessing that's the Strat which was in the Gross Out video.

Personally, I love the sound of Craig's Tom Anderson custom. Maybe because I like guitars with brighter sounding pickups better. I guess it's just a matter of preference.
mary_jane83
i love the black one ! ( the fender stratocaster ) i want the same one ! rolleyes.gif
but does anybody knows what craig uses like pedals ? i think he uses a tremolo but i'm not sure !

Guitar players who spend a lot of money on effects and guitars to get the tone they want will probably laugh at me for saying this, but with my strat I just have the pickup selector in the middle using all 3 pickups and the pickups are wound down away from the strings so the tone is just a dull thump. I like it and that's all that matters.

EXACTLY

I bought a £120 pitch shifter pedal to sound like Jonny Greenwood. It sounded shit. I got rid of it. Mess about with your amp settings, see what sounds good TO YOU. Funny thing is, if you copy every spec your guitar hero has, most of the time it doesn't sound so good. Fair enough if you're gonna be a cover band, but if you're wanting to do your own stuff you should definitely go down different avenues, experiment more. Tune your guitar flat like the Velvet Underground, or tune it high like The Smiths. Invent your own tunings like Sonic Youth. Learn to NOT play your instrument. None of the Beatles knew music theory. The Slits had to get Mick Jones of The Clash to tune their guitars before gigs cos they had no idea of what they were doing, but good GOD they had some fantastic songs.

Be ridiculous, that's the only advice I can really give.
gypseyrou2005
I agree. You have to find your own sound.

I like how Craig barely ever has it tuned in standard e.. most of the time he just has the guitar tuned to itself.

autumn_shade
When I bought my first guitar i didn't know how to tune it so I just wound the strings up tight until they didn't buzz anymore. Nowadays I tune it to sound good by ear. I don't own a tuner and it's probably ridiculously out of tune. Oh well.
gypseyrou2005
theres online tuners you can go to. google it. I used to use them all the time.
The Aviator
Ugh, I absolutely hate tuners. I just say, well, if they're in equal harmony, that's good enough for me. I tune it by ear, and that takes a bit of practice, though, it's just a matter of how you do it.
gypseyrou2005
true, but sucks if you want to play with someone

Ha, when Kurt Cobain bought his first acostic "polly" he had to use duc tape to keep it in tune, I bet your tuning sounds perfect compared to that guitar.
mac5
Does anyone know if Craig smashed the Tom Anderson (custom green) guitar? He doesn't play it anymore that i've seen and i was just wondering?
wednesday
a lot of smashing of guitars goes on, frankly i don't think it really matters some bands smash a lot of guitars, it makes there shows better, except for this one guy at a nirvana concert who got a piece of bass in the face and lost two teeth, not too fun for him.
Dan
lol i just paid out £950 quid for a brand new gibson sg standard in black if anyone thinks im smashing that bad boy they got another thing coming!
tyler
it is NOT a Tom Anderson- it's a spalt and scala custom. It was made for Craig as a gift. go look at garageguitars.com if you want to see. Retails at about $2500 if you want one made.
