i asked about this and was told 'anysound' will be the first proper UK cd single - formats, tracklisting and exact release dates are still being worked out.

in other words, people outside australia will need to get the 'don't listen...' 3-track single on import. i'll get it to support the band and for the b-sides.

they're doing things differently in each country...no reason given why, except the label must believe the various songs will go over differently in different markets. the song styles are so varied - rock, pop, ballad, psychedelic - it is a challenge to figure how best to market them...but then it's that variety that makes them so interesting.

Yeah i thought that. Bands normally release a single BEFORE the album. I just thought that was the standard method. Get some general interest by releasing a single, then pop the album on shelves a couple of weeks later.

Though I guess the digital downloads are counting as the "get some general inerest" part this time.

exactly. 'gross out' is the UK pre-release single, so to speak. i honestly think it's the song length that's keeping them from releasing it as a cd single in addition to a digital download.

Highly Evolved was only 94 seconds and they released that as a single.

They should have released Gross Out as a CD single with a special b-side (like an unreleased demo or something equally tempting).

I'm back for a bit. I got really sick right the day after I announced my hiatus, and I just got released from the hospital early this morning. I had a real bad case of flu, I'm alright now, but I'm still pretty sicky-fied.

And of course, when I come back there's a nice big malicious virus on my computer. I'm currently battling that but I'm losing pretty bad at the moment. Blarg.

I'm in no shape to start screencapping again, in fact, I shouldn't even be on here. I should be resting. Ah well, resting is for losers.
