Sorry, I just felt like making a thread about this, but the Popstars-like programmes are really annoying the CRAP outta me.

Am I the only one SO TOTALLY BOTHERED by these crap shows?! Damn... Popstars The Rivals Season 1(oh no, there will be more

) has just started here, and already I feel like tearing my hair out. Why, I ask you. WHY?! Oh, and you should hear the name the boyband gave themselves: Men2b. I mean...WHAT?! All contestants of lame-ass programmes like that deserve to be painfully humiliated on public display. GOD.

Anyone else who shares my loathing?

I share your loathing. The only reason people watch shit on Pop Stars is because they want to be them. Which will never happen and it really lowers peoples self esteem because they'll never be "as pretty as jessica" or "as rick as p.diddy". which is stupid because in my mind I think a million people are prettier than Jessica Simpson and ya know what, it sucks to be rich, You ever notice that rich people have more problems.
Like that song, Mo Money Mo Problems. Haha.
Anyway, I agree with you Craighead, you're mad chill.

I wouldn't say that.
Hopefully, these programmes will die out soon enough. The bands rarely do well, so there's no point in the producers spending the money. They should go the same way as the majority of reality tv shows if we're lucky.

Yes, Comradestripe, you're right. I can't remember any band out of one of those programmes that did really well. Girls Aloud came closest and that's saying something.
1969inmybed, please call me Fee.

(God, what an ugly smiley) I just can't get used to being called by my nickname.

An example down here the second Australian Idol is that she only sold 30,000 CD's but since there were 250,000 distributed they counted that as being sold, so therefore she is now on top of the 'aria' charts as having the most sold album...

Well, here in Holland there's a guy who went to the finales, but you'd have to sign a contract which says you can't write your own songs. He didn't want that, so he backed out. I'd have done the same.
