Of course there will! And I'm not proclaiming mine to be any substitution, because they're most certainly not!
I didn't say you were. I was just explaining in case some weren't sure.

Okie dokes then!
I'm kinda decidedly not using the new graphic on my shirts because I want people to buy those when they come out. Plus, theirs will probably be better anyhow.

I assume Jess has just been given the "okay" to make shirts with Vines imagery but there will still be official t-shirts. if you'd read the posts, you'd see we'd contacted vines mgmt and gotten their okay. in fact, andy k had this to say about jess's shirts...
I think a few t-shirts proudly sporting the Vines name here and there are all for the general betterment of society.
i totally agree.

Thats cool. Thank you Jess for doing this. They're very nice, whether they're official or not. They seem to be really good quality for home-made.

Wow i just saw the shirts they look awsome. I really want to know how to make them. And if not i will ask for one of the green ones but i would have to work somethings out. Since there all pretty nice i would take one of each

I will just wait until the shiping is finalized.

Sorry about that!
I kinda forgot about my own thread. It's really no big secret, I'm telling you right now. I use transfer paper and an iron and voila! A Vines shirt!
I was gonna make one with fabric paint and whatnot, but they looked a little too "homemade" for me. And by that I mean it looked like total ass.
If you want me to go into better detail and tell a few things I learned along the way (and trust me, four mistake-shirts later and you're all the wiser!) let me know and I shall. But there's a lot to include and I won't bother going into detail if nobody cares.
Sorry about the lack of response! I'll pay more attention next time!

I like the green one. How much is it?
LockedInAFreezer
Feb 26 2006, 04:14 AM
Um...that would depend on the the shipping and handling part of things which I'm still working out.
As soon as I get over the flu and I'm back on my feet again, I'll be able to get to work making the shirts and getting cost confirmations.
Sorry that I can't be more informative at this time.

Oh. Thanks. I didn't even know what transpaper paper was. But I read into it, and I get the idea. It's pretty cool. But uh, where do you buy transfer paper from? Can you get it from any stores or can it only be bought online?

Okay! Thanks....but really, talent has nothing to do with anything!
what size shirt did ya want?
ummm can you tell me about your sizes?? Because i'm not sure that there are the same were you live (numbers? letters?)
LockedInAFreezer
Feb 26 2006, 03:00 PM
Okay, to answer the question about the transfer paper:
I'm not sure if you live in the states, but around here you can get it at stores like Walmart, and even smaller drug stores. Or, you can even go to a stationary store like Staples, or Office Max and get it, but it might be a bit more expensive in certain places. Price also depends on the brand and the amount you're buying. There's paper for dark and light fabric and it comes in various size sheets. But, you don't have to purchase it online at all. In fact, when I was first looking into it, I couldn't find it anywhere online. So, yeah. Most stores should have it.
And for Amnesia77's questions with sizes, around here that is, we have small, medium, large and extra large. I'm not sure what the conversions are though. I could find that out. The men's sizes are obviously a bit larger and longer, but I can size accordingly even if I have to resort to using primarily men's shirts. It depends on what's more available. But I have a feeling the men's shirts will end up being what I use. So, for example, if you're a girl and you wear a large you'll want a men's medium because you have to account for the extra size. I hope this isn't confusing...
EDIT: Okay...I found a clothing size converter online.

those shirts are pretty sweet. very nice. love the green logo one. anyway, another way to make them would be to bring a design to a custom t-shirt store, theres billions around.
LockedInAFreezer
Feb 26 2006, 10:27 PM
That's true but some stores won't do it because of copyright infringement. Legally they can't sell you something with a Vines logo without permission. Also, I find that it costs more to go to a t-shirt place, and they're rather picky about what you can and can't get. I dunno. But yeah, it's still an option.

Mar 6 2006, 12:57 AM
Okay.
I actually finished some of the shirts people asked me for but they may not be what you guys wanted.
The green shirts that had the logo on them are kinda different than what I had originally made. The ones I could get for those who wanted one are a bit darker, they're v-necked shirts and the logo is different. Here....I'll just show you and then those of you that asked for them can say whether you like them or not, and if not I can see what I can do. But Walmart was totally out of the shirts the color of the first one I did like that and the only ones they did have had pockets, or V-necks so ARGHHH!!
And then I realized I actually was out of transfer paper so I had to use what I had left, which was the kind for dark fabric, so that would mean that anything white came out white, instead of clear. So yeah. I dunno if you guys will like the green one I did do, but if so then I'll send it. If not I can attempt track down a greener shirt and try again, but it'll be another week. So....here ya go.

first, jess, it's nice to see you back among the living.

sorry you're struggled so with the flu.
second, i'm fine with the new shirt. i'll take one of those, but if you are able to get in the darker green and do the black design, i'll buy it later too. i live in t-shirts when i'm not at work, and i can never have too many vines ones.

I'm still working on the shirts, so if anyone else wants one I can do them. I'm still attempting to get supplies and whatnot, so I'm gonna have to head to other Walmarts further away to see if maybe they'll have a better selection.

Would it be possible to get a design like the one that's on the first Green T, but on a blue T instead??? (like a royal blue, I guess - nothing against green, but blue is my fav color

)
Oh, and it's Friday here in Keller TX and I may not be able to get back on the net til Monday - So if I don't reply to your reply right away, don't think that I'm ignoring you guys or anything, okay? ThanX, Later!!!

To answer all the questions....
yes yes and yes. You guys can get anything you want in terms of shirts (within reason because the price of my materials went up!! Argghhh!!

)
And no, I'm not dead, just dreadfully busy!
And I'm still searching for the army green colored tees. They're nowhere to be found! Walmart is seriously disappointing me!!
And guys....if you really want shirts please tell me what and the size because after next week when I'm on break, and after I finish and mail all the people's shirts who've asked for one I think I might not be making them anymore. I do enjoy doing it, but my schedule is crazy and I don't want to make people wait weeks on end for a t-shirt (like I already am).
But I dunno. So let me know.
Thanks guys.

Yeah, just let me know where you live, as in location... like the country and stuff so I can calculate shipping. And then size/ shirt color/ what you want on it. I'm going to go get some stuff today and I'm off all next week so now is the time to ask for them.
And thanks a lot! I LOVE YOU TOO MAN!

(but do ya think you could tell me - or heck, ALL of us how exactly ya make 'em? My step dad did pretty much the same thing - a transfer sort of deal - on a shirt as a Christmas present for me a few years back [he put a pic of the dog I had at the time, Bram, on it] , but he never showed me how to do it myself and I really think I could just have a Hay Day with this!!

Basically I just used transfer paper a tee shirt and and iron. Not much of a hassle. It's just finding specific shirt colors and good graphics to use and that kinda stuff that can be difficult. Also the paper has gotten expensive!
