Full Version: YOUTH GROUP LIVE?
Have any of you caught them live? I was thinking about going to their show in LA early in March, it's only $12, but I'm not sure how good they are live. Plus, is Patrick even an official member of that band now or what?

Also, I'm probably gonna study abroad next year, either Paris or Sydney (cuz they're both pretty kick ass cities), so any of you know whether or not The Vines still play small shows in Australia (the Sydney area)? Cuz that would be freakin' awesome in case I go there hahaha.
I saw them when they supported The Vines about 2 and a half years ago, and sorry to say but I was bored shitless, but thats only cos I was drunk and cos I was way too excited about seeing the vines, I wanted them to hurry up and finish their set. I saw them again 2 weeks ago, and this time I thought it was alright
only go if your a fan of the music. They are good but not really that interesting.

yeh i saw them at the BDO. Honestly i found them quite boring... i was dozing off on my feet. no other bands were on at the time and my friends wanted to see them. theyd only be good if u really liked them and ur into boring shows. but personally i like out of control crazy phyco like shows so yeh i didnt enjoy them much.

Aww, I'm starting to get excited for seeing them Sunday night! I'm actually going outta my way...cuz I was supposed to drive down to LA on Sunday...but I'm gonna drive down from SF to LA during the middle of the night after the show 
It's at Slim's which is rather small...so if I see Patrick I'll have him hold up a special sign saying "sorry for snubbing you (VINECHILD'S NAME? ), I was a major twat" or something to that effect.

Its very hard for me to watch these, cause they keep starting and stopping, starting and stopping. They're taking too long to download, but from what i can hear, they're very mellow songs. This is the first time ive ever heard any of Youth Group's music. Sounds like a very mellow band...or should i say.."emo".. "Shadowland" is more upbeat tho.
I can see Pat in the background. Odd to see him without Craig in the foreground. I also saw his face in the video...

Haha, and also bitter that Pat left Craig haha. I really like it. But yeah, I'm gonna try my best to catch 'em at the SF noise pop show coming up. But...its still in march so maybe that'll get cancelled too
Also, I wouldn't call it emo as much as sort of just soft indie rock. Lol, emo is more of the whinin' bitch type
Youth Group is awesome. Toby (lead) has a very melonchoic voice, he sounded like Bob Dylan in a demo for "Daisychains". I can relate to their music just like i can relate to the Vines music. I like them both.

Well, just bought my tix for the noise pop festival that's later this month. Hopefully they don't cancel this too...cuz then I'll have to kick some ass! It kinda sucks, cuz I'm not too sure about the other people playing that night...and the freakin' service fee was $11 for a freakin' $18 ticket!

I don't mind them, but they are a bit boring/mopey at times. Plus every second OC kid is a fan because of their 'forever young' cover being on the show or whatever.

Man their last album was elevator music. Their live show is hardly awe inspiring. The best thing they have done is the FY cover and it wasnt even their idea.
